activation limit??

As in, if your hard drive crashes and you re-download the game, you use up one activation?

You can do that five times? Not seeing the problem. Seems pretty liberal.

http://www.downloadsquad.com/2010/01/23/steam-shows-massive-adoption-of-windows-7-by-gamers/

Quote
So, get this: while Windows 7 only accounts for 6% of the global operating system market, 23% of Steam gamers are using Windows 7!

The breakdown shows a lot of statistics, including average processor speed (2.5GHz) and NVIDIA (65%) versus ATI (30%). You can even see the split between 32- and 64-bit versions of Windows 7: if you click 'Windows Versions', all the flavors drop down -- 64-bit has 15.6% of the total share, while 32-bit has 7.45%. In the past month, the Windows 7 64-bit adoption jumped 2.5%, while Windows XP dropped by 3.2% -- a sure sign that gamer geeks are finally migrating away from XP (and that Santa brought them shiny new computers!)

But of course, the best statistic, saved until last like a prime cut of steak, is that Windows 7 (23%) has surpassed Windows Vista (20%)... after just 4 months!

Those gamers sure didn't like Vista. Who can blame them.

Nice to see the folks at downloadsquad took notice as well. Very well done by Windows 7 and Microsoft.

Here's the graphic for comparison

ok i know ME2 is teh hawtness right now and even avp will get over shadowed but i was just reading a kotaku review on star trek online and this is the first time since i was hardcore in L2 that i feel like paying for an mmo!(meaning i love guild wars and will continue sweating the hell out of it but no other mmo has made me wanna subscribe since L2,not trying to say that i wanna pirate mmos or anything)

Sooooo if there are any other space Cadets out there, lets launch Trinidad's first space program nah!!

Trine is decent though surprisingly difficult to configure for two players.

Which I thought was the point!

Wouldn't mind a stint in star fleet crixx but I could never find the time for mmo's. Maybe when I retire yes.

Well well, look what I stumbled across on Steam...

Sadly, the very next day after release...the studio filed for bankruptcy.  I guess gamers weren't ready for a Stargate action game.  I was.

I wanted to buy it, but that whole bankruptcy thing with the dev/pub raises an interesting question:

Will they be able to keep the MP servers running...and for how long?

I don't want to spend tha money and have it 'jump up' because they pull server support.
EA is a big company, and they shutting down servers left and right, so who is Firesky?

...and can someone send me the memo explaining the current (and rather annoying) trend of including all those symbols and numbers
before/after your Steam nickname?  Is it some new 'clan' thing I don't know about?

Another annoying by-product of Modern Warfail 2, from what I've read so far.

If good ol Insanity Whored had implemented an IN-GAME naming system (like Bad Company 2 nah) then you guys wouldn't
have to resort to that nonsense.  Man...the fail just keeps rollin on from that 'game' yes.  :laughing7:
