You know, I just stumbled upon this article and read it through. The gaming results were actually rather surprising.
It seems there is no real difference at present going from 3 cores to 4.
I wish they had done a direct comparison of all Core 2 Quads to the AMD PhII 720 BE using 3 cores at the same clockspeeds.
I still advocate: the more cores you can have for your money, the better. Most of us use our PCs for more than gaming anyway,
so the real-world benefits of quad-core CPUs are there.
Still, kickazz article. Could always depend on Tom's Hardware to 'bring da tech noise'.
