lol, well I see Tito Ortiz starring in it, and being a big MMA fan, I'll have to support the fighter and watch this movie.

Apprentice, just ran a test on my 5mb.

Looks normal

Maybe its in your area. Who else on the forum close to you that on flow? Would be interested to see their results.

Speed is ok in San Juan. Ping could use some improvement.

Couple weeks ago it was terrible tho.

mines been fine

Been getting epic lag only in League of Legends and I'm pretty sure that has to do with the game itself (and their servers / netcode) than Flow.

Everything else has been running like butter.

148ms to Florida.. That used to be 60-70ms :/
Things really laggy. Spoke to berserk and his fps pings are 200ms+ like me.

Same speedtest to same server as you on a 25mbps connection:

Just called Flow support. Guy says everything is normal, he argues that 200ms and higher for FPS games is "OKAY".
He says nothing is wrong with the Flow network and the problem is the servers I connect to.  :shakehead:
While talking to him and explaining certain things he just doesn't reply and gives me the silence treatment.
I tell him to move this up to his superiors and he says everything is good, they can't do anything about it and HANGS UP on me.
This is BS.

I think we got to look at which part of Trinidad you guys are from as well.

I remember there was a time when it was working bess in Petit Valley and St. Anns but people in Maraval and South was feeling real pain.

Might see a pattern again.

Also, my test was run at peak time, which usually gives that sort of result.

At off peak, I'll usually do better in the latency department.

Still all games running smooth (save for League of Legends)

I suffering with 2mb download from tstt, real pain, but at least I know im actually getting 2mb and a decent ping to most servers.

Keep that high bandwidth oui. I need good ping which they seem incapable of delivering consistently, hadda be worrying bout peak and off peak. pfffft.

You wanna hold all kinna expo but basic things like proper customer service, COURTESY and competent staff you can't be bothered with. What a pack of friggin jokers.

Allyuh not seeing a red cent from me anytime soon.

lol, ok Emo-Awesome. We've heard your anti-flow rant a billion times. Same can be said for Blink as they have scorned many a gamer with dismal performance and lack luster customer service as well.

but enough on the ISP love/hate relationships, lets try and help Apprentice with something on topic.

Here's my offpeak results (ran a few seconds ago)

Hit us your results for comparison.

Apprentice, if you can, try running this test as well....it gives some very detailed analysis on your connection. May help pinpoint the source of the problem.

http://netalyzr.icsi.berkeley.edu/index.html

In my results, the section on buffering is a bit worrying.

Quote
Network buffer measurements (?): Uplink 5900 ms, Downlink 1200 ms
We estimate your uplink as having 5900 msec of buffering. This is quite high, and you may experience substantial disruption to your network performance when performing interactive tasks such as web-surfing while simultaneously conducting large uploads. With such a buffer, real-time applications such as games or audio chat can work quite poorly when conducting large uploads at the same time.

Working fine here...

...and it seems that Flow has upped their upload bandwidth finally.
I'm consistently getting 1Mb upload.  I hope that's not a fluke.

The NetAlyzr results are similar with the buffering issues...

Quote

With such a buffer, real-time applications such as games or audio chat can work quite poorly when conducting large uploads at the same time.

We estimate your downlink as having 840 msec of buffering. This level can in some situations prove somewhat high, and you may experience degraded performance when performing interactive tasks such as web-surfing while simultaneously conducting large downloads. Real-time applications, such as games or audio chat, may also work poorly when conducting large downloads at the same time.

Could that be a Flow issue?
How do we engage them on this one?

I should point out that TSTT's customer service is 50x better than Flow's at this present time.

I'l not saying they should have technical issues but that coupled with POOR support is total fail.

Would have loved to see the test results when everything was running horrible.

Anyway this does not give Flow CSR's any excuse to HANG UP on their customers.
One of my friends having the same issue with his connection called 30mins after I called in last night.
The CSR rudely spoke to him saying "is this the same person that called with the same problem" and hangs up.

I did post this issue to their facebook page as well.. Maybe they did look into it after those phone calls last night as well as the facebook post.
O well... Hopefully things run good for some time, which really means about a few weeks before more problems.  :shakehead:

We were not able to produce enough traffic to load the downlink buffer, or the downlink buffer is particularly small. You probably have excellent behavior when downloading files and attempting to do other tasks.

I do, actually. I got the same result with 2 torrent instances on the network running and the other test was run with them closed.

Only other warning is this

Quote
DNS resolver properties (?): Lookup latency 4000ms
Your ISP's DNS resolver requires 4000 msec to conduct an external lookup. It takes 130 msec for your ISP's DNS resolver to lookup a name on our server.
This is particularly slow, and you may see significant performance degradation as a result.
