As I've said before, I have never had any problems with my FLOW connection. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones. Youtube videos play fine (with ByWifi at least),

720p videos stream off Appletrailers buffer free, online gaming barely has any lag, and just about all my downloads (torrent & http) run at max speeds.

Just this morning I acquired a copy of Starcraft II for test purposes (I actually mean it this time, I WILL be buying the game) and I took under an hour

to download the entire 7+ GB file. The speeds maxed out at around 2.5mb/s. FLOW could gladly take meh money.

Never had any big problems with flow here.Biggest problem i had since i got flow is that about 2 weeks ago they went down whole day.

@CAP yea wtf is with the upload speeds they giving us i can use the 1mb upload bad to i can upload more videos.

@woody you mad yes how much hdd's you have hoss.

This is supposed to be my 10Mb account upgraded to 20Mb. I was thinking of downgrading but I think its time to go back to Blink.

Very interesting phenomenon here...

Whats interesting here is that I got that result using the Chromium browser
in Ubuntu 10.04, on my MSI Wind.  Take a closer look at the ping, which is a much
better result (63 ms) than what I'm getting in Windows 7 (550 ms) on my gaming rig.

Why such a large disparity?  This one has me scratching my head.
If anything, I thought the wi-fi connection would introduce even more latency into the result.

I couldn't do a corresponding pingtest, as Ubuntu is having security issues with how pingtest.net establishes its IP connections across the network.

My question here:  is Windows 7 introducing something into the network equation that is 'corrupting' the pingtest, and skewing the result?  How is it that I'm getting pings of 550 ms
and above, and yet I regularly get 85-120 ms to gameservers in the US?  Browser issue perhaps?  More testing immc.  As stated before, gaming performance seems unaffected,
but still, I'd like to have an accurate picture of the network when I do a pingtest.

Ran the pingtest from my download PC, and interestingly...got these results...

...so I decided to do some digging on my gaming PC, and eventually found the culprit.
So now I'm getting the correct result.  Every time...

I had an app called 'NetLimiter', which allows you to grant/limit bandwidth on a per app basis,
and also serves as a bandwidth monitor, so you can see at a glance which app or process is using
x amount of bandwidth.  It apparently created some extra network interfaces in the Device Manager
to do those jobs, and thats what created the extra latency.  Its not totally necessary anymore, so I
removed it, since the one app I wanted it to regulate (Steam) just wasn't working.

Problem solved.  :happy0203:

Now...if Flow could only do something about them UPLOAD SPEEDS DAMMIT!!!  :(
Right now I in trouble with Fileporn.org and Bootytape.com.
