What can you do to end the hunger?
It's no surprise that many will die with the coming shortage of food
When there is no grain to feed the butchered cows
When there is nothing to feed yourselves...
Then you will see that money can't be eaten.

Sure. The Arabs essentially took the view that there should be no white whatsoever in those pictures and decided to attack several times. They lost every single time and each time Israel occupied territory that they won in the fighting. Frankly I give them right.

If the Arabs had simply accepted the plan fro the get go they wouldn't be in this bind. But their "I want it all" mentality has left the Palestinians in shambles. In general they have only themselves to blame.

No I meant it in a collective sense. After all the Egyptians, Syrians, Lebanese, all of them participated in the attacks.

Just for the record, white phosphorous isn't banned. You're supposed to exercise care when using it around civilians but it isn't banned. The U.S. used it extensively in Iraq and Afghanistan.

And before anyone brings it up, the depleted uranium that some are saying Israel was using in its shells/bombs isn't illegal either.

Are you disagreeing with the article where it says "Under the Geneva Treaty of 1980, the use of white phosphorous as a weapon is prohibited, however, there is no blanket ban on its use as a smokescreen or for illumination"? I'm not sure what you're getting at with your post.

Also, guardian.co.uk has some scary ass videos about the stuff. The first video is of some kids are playing with a part of the bomb, it's amazingly disturbing. The second video is also just... wow.

Pretty much. It's Aljazeera after all. White phosphorus is not characterized as a chemical weapon. From it's wiki page:

White phosphorus weapons are controversial today because of their potential use against civilians. While the Chemical Weapons Convention does not designate WP as a chemical weapon, various groups consider it to be one. In recent years, the United States, Israel, and Russia have used white phosphorus in combat.

The U.S. use of white phosphorus in Iraq in the Iraq War has resulted in considerable controversy from critics of the war. Initial field reports referred to white phosphorus use against insurgents,[3] but its use was officially denied until November 2005,[4] when the Department of Defense admitted[5] to the use of white phosphorus while stating that its use for producing obscuring smoke is legal and does not violate the CWC.[6] A DoD spokesman has also admitted that WP "was used as an incendiary weapon against enemy combatants", though not against civilians.[7]

Aljazeera is hardly what I'd consider an objective source and their facts are obviously being skewed to promote outrage. As for the convention of 1980, yes it does mention incendiary weapons. However the wording is that the weapons are not to be used with civilians as the target. Obviously Israel is targeting militants and any civilian casualties are unintended. Hence technically legal.

You think Israel could have used it in Lebanon otherwise without consequences? Or the U.S. in Iraq and Afghanistan? International law is subject to interpretation and anyone hoping to use it to defend themselves is in for a world of trouble.
