Your take on the conflict in Gaza
« on: January 06, 2009, 10:39:57 AM »
I am not anti-semetic, no in fact I have family that are jewish. I am not a black and white kinda guy in general since 'right' is a very blurry line in most things. However I am in agreement with a close friend of mine that what Israel is doing in the Gaza is UTTER RUBBISH! I've only recently come to appreciate the 'state' in which palestinians are 'allowed to LIVE' in THEIR OWN COUNTRY. Imagine that Palestinians live in the Gaza (the most DENSELY populated area on EARTH imagine THAT) and they aren't allowed to work save for the FEW jobs that they get in Israel doing their grub work. Not only that but they aren't allowed inside the 'Holy City' unless under ridiculously strict circumstances. Now I am only slightly aware of what really goes on and other members on the forum may be better informed, so please do put your 2c.

I sit and watch the coverage (which is LIMITED BY ISRAEL) of the Gaza (which is on PALESTINIAN SOIL.... wait... the ISRAELIES aren't allowing media coverage and UN AID into PALESTIAN TERRITORY???? WTF) and I get more and MORE DISGUSTED with the leaders of a nation that itself was once the target of mass genocide.... yet they have the GAUL to treat HUMAN BEINGS in the manner they do? WOW... TALK ABOUT HYPOCRITES.... the GOSHDAMN DEATH RATION IS 4:500.... WTF!!!!

So to my fellow GATTers please do give me more insight into this humanitarian attrocity before I doh become anti-semetic...

What is going on there is absolutely unconscionable.  What really gets me is that the US has implicitly ENDORSED what Israel is doing.  Talk about defending the indefensible.  How interesting it is that the world isn't up in arms when it was revealed that a mosque was bombed during evening prayers, killing women and children inside.  If the Palestinians had unleashed a rocket attack on a synagogue, the whole world would have condemned it.  It seems that world opinion is skewed in favour of the Jews...still.  They are the ones that are now committing genocide in the Gaza strip.

I really wish all the surrounding Arab nations would truly unite, if only to lay down the mother of all military smackdowns on Israel, and bomb the bastards into submission, but alas, that will never happen, because Israel is well equipped and funded courtesy of good old 'Uncle Sam'.

Where's the worldwide condemnation?  I am not hearing it.
Understandably, only the Arab world is protesting.

Read that. Read what caused the deadlock and the withdrawal of the US and Israel. Now go back and look at the date. Then tell me what event happened just about a week later.

That's right. I believe that Israel's refusal to stop mistreating their neighbours and the US support of Israel played a large part in precipitating the attacks on September 11 2001.

There's no reason for Israel to stop the fighting. They are winning and it's so IMBA that there's no real way that they can lose, so why stop? This unilateral backing of one side has been abused by Israel for too long. The US needs to remove their aid and the whole world needs to level the playing field. You'd see how fast this nonsense would end if both sides suffered equal consequences.  :violent5:

Well you have to remember, this is not NEW, this battle has been going on for donkey years. The Israel/Palestinian issue is a man beating a dead horse expecting it to move..on one side you have Israel, taking more and more land from the Palestinians unlawfully, which the Israel Gov't until recently condemned and were forcefully removing their own people from their illegal homes in the West Bank.
That was a step in the right direction, BUT, you also have the extremist Jews who fight against that and are racist MOFO's who want all palestinians OUT of palestine cause they want the country for themselves...They are the religious fanatics who take the Old Testiment too literally and believe the promised land is all of israel PLUS Palestine.

History shows that Israel is land taken from the palestinians during British Rule to colonize with European Jews escaping the tyranny in Europe..So began the Israel/Palestine conflict.

Simple solution, wipe out the whole state and there will be no more conflict...LOL

Now wait a second there Winny poo

This indeed is a very serious issue and ive been a long follow of the issue, i speak to both jews and muslims in palestine and israel and i know there both stances and I disagree with them both because of the relentless slaughter of people over land, supposedly "holy" land at that, because God totally wants people to spill blood on his holy land.

Now as for who's land it is... that .. is..a..pickle.
Technically the Jews were there first eh.. buh is kind of a , you get off your seat to go for some punch an yu come back an ah nex man in yuh seat.. hmm... battle? apparently.

So dont take the stance of, its the Palestinians own land.. thats an undecided point.

Now to the meat and potatoes, Israel is doing RUBBISH!! (although the point of the jews genocide thing doesnt apply to them, since israeli jews were all safe and snug as a bug during hitlers little squabble), it never the less is truly disgusting what is goin now and what happens all the time in palestine.

I know a girl there who goes to university, all she wants to do is be an artist and honestly, the things she has to endure to just go to school is mind boggling.

The americans support is not surprising in the least but now those zionist nut jobs are starting to get a bit more credibility with the way things are progressing.

If you believe the whole judeo-christian bible stuff... the land was promised to them by God himself... yeah.. sooo.
But i dont believe you the moment you tell me God approves of your wholesale slaughter of anyone.

Its kind of sad that the Hamas militants are using Schools and Children as COVER for their attacks...its kind of cowardly if you ask me. Why involve civilians? Fight like Men, don't hide with kids...

ON the other hand, Firing at a school is SO WRONG no matter if there are gunmen inside. There are other ways...This is really getting out of hand, and the media is not helping by focusing on it 24/7 GEEZUS!!!

The media is so counter productive its ridiculous. They just drive the hate in there and make things escalate further...

well again Winny
its not their land

the jews left the land for awhile. went dong by de shop on de corna
can come back an it had man livin in dey house, drinking dey heineken and watching dey tv...
so its a touchy issue, Palestine has not been allowed to become a nation because the israelites believe that they are basically squatting on dey backyard :(

No excuse to bomb schools... thas uncalled for (the americans do it to the iraqis to though...)

The israelites believe they have a right to protect their citizens from random loobs being lobed at them..
but then they  call in air strikes on civilians and schools.. how is that equitable?

AND if i man pelt ah big tone in yur yard an in response you light my chilren on fire... dat goin an make me cool off?
I not goin an claw tooth and nail at you after dat??? bess belieeee dat n00gah

Even IF (and I stress on IF) you use the bible as historical reference to whom the land belongs to, you'll recall the israelites SLAUGHTERED the native inhabitants (hitites, amorites, etc) to get that land. So that being said how is it justifiable to say Israel owns it? as Redlum rightfully pointed out, that land was 'assigned' after WWII on whose authority? *crickets churping*

The fact remains that the native inhabitants of that region are ARABS, not JEWS. The amorites, hitites, etc were all ARAB, as the Palestinians are ARABs, they would have just as much if not MORE rights to the land they PAINFULLY LIVE IN. Otherwise, throw everything out of the pram and it's up for grabs (which is what Israel seems to want, MASACRE the inhabitants AGAIN to get the land 'God' gave them...) Reminds me of a C U Next Thursday that said a woman losing a child is her punishment for sins... yeah... God punishes innocent children....

Face it, there are conflicts like this all over the place...India and Pakistan fighting over Kashmir, again the British Empire had a nice hand in leaving...They fighting over a piece of land in the mountains...they speak the same dialect, Irdu, but Religious differences between Muslim and Hindus caused that conflict...Muslims / Arabs mind you are closer to the Jewish religion than Hindus, but its the EXTREMISTS causing the problems..Hamas, Taliban,  Zionists, David Koresh (LOL)

This is so stupid, all this fighting and crap over land, when the next major Global disaster occurs, it matters NOT! We all are in the same Boat when Yellowstone National park goes Super Volcano on our behinds and takes out the bulk of civilization...who fighting for land then ehhh?? It'll be more who fighting for the Space shuttle ticket to the Moon then....BAKAS!! HUMANITY SUCKS!!

I really wish all the surrounding Arab nations would truly unite, if only to lay down the mother of all military smackdowns on Israel

They tried that before, and Israel beat the hell out of them.

As for whose land it is, the ancestral argument imo is extremely foolish. The area has been arab dominated for centuries and jewish before that but so what? The land was...wait for it...BRITISH. Britain had the only say in what was going to happen there, and they gave the Israelis a state there. Now then I don't necessarily agree with this. I think it would have been best if a part of Germany was cut off for a jewish state since Germany/Poland/Austria was where they dwelled for centuries, but Palestinians can't argue bout that anyway.

It's worth noting that Israel is now much bigger than it was when it first was born. The Israelis have gained much territory through warfare against the arabs in the region. All because the arabs nations could not accept a Jewish state and launched multiple attacks on Israel. So they put themselves in this pickle.

However I am completely against this latest offensive. It's ridiculous. When I saw that they blew up an apartment complex to kill ONE MAN I tell myself this s*** out of control. I'm not against them killing off Hamas, but this is too much collateral damage.
