With games like Street Fighter 4, Blazblue and the like heading our way, there's no doubt in my mind that 2009 is going to be "The Year of Fighting Games" (screw the Chinese Zodiac). That is why, in the new year, I plan to kick things off with a bang by taking a tour of Trinidad and challenging damn near EVERYBODY I can find. Win or lose, whether I know the game or not, I'm planning to head on out there and flex my fighting game resume against some of Trinidad's greatest.
Now, you're probably wondering why I've named this the 'Tatsunoko Tour'. Well, if it isn't painfully obvious by now, let me explain. One of the games I plan to promote for this tour is Tatsunoko vs. Capcom. I'm currently on the hunt for a second-hand Wii to use for this tour, and then, I'm going to scour the countryside, looking for peeps to play.
However, the tour isn't just limited to that game. Here's a list of the games that I'm open to playing people in:
- Marvel vs. Capcom 1 (Arcade)
- Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (Arcade, PS2 or Dreamcast)
- Street Fighter III (and eventually IV when it comes out) (PS2)
- Tekken 5 (and eventually 6 when it comes out) (PS2)
- Capcom vs. SNK 2 (PS2...do people still play this game?)
- Soul Calibur 3 or 4
- Mortal Kombat Armageddon (I've actually seen a few people play this game in public. I want IN.)
- Blazblue (when it comes out)
But wait! There's more.
See the titles in yellow?
Those happen to be the games I'm particularly good at.
If you think you can take me on (and win!) at one of my 'special challenges', you can actually take home a little something for your troubles. More details on that later.
Now, despite the fact that I said something along the lines of challenging everybody in anything, there are two franchises that I will never, EVER EVER EVER play (for the sake of my sanity, and in the case of one particular game, because I hate it so very, very much). These are:
- Super Smash Bros. Brawl
- ANY Naruto game
No offense to anybody who plays these titles, of course, but if I feel like I'm not going to put my all into something, it's not worth it. And these are two games that I definitely won't put my all into. Sorry. If it makes you feel any better, I'm more open to Smash.
So, there's my gauntlet. It's been cast. I am also accepting challenges as well, but be warned that I am only available on some Saturdays and Sundays, and we'd therefore have to arrange things in advance.
So, here's to looking towards a bright 2009. See you peeps later.
EDIT: Sorry, folks. I'm not in that much of a joking mood concerning what I won't play, so thread pruned. Serious offers ONLY.
