Fellas i found this review everything informative
http://www.hardcoreware.net/reviews/review-348-1.htm

But it could also be some serious fanboy-ism so take it some pepper.

Take into account that is a year old and a lot has changed since then.

I will agree the 360 controller is better for fps (and some third person). I dont think its THAT much better than the PS3 for FPS but it is easy to pick up. I never played Halo before or used a 360 but the first time I played I was within a minute accustomed to the controller and fraggin away.

I'm personally not a fan of  the 360 controller for any other genre especially anything using the dpad. That being said any controller you use (between ps3 and 360) you will eventually learn it and play good.

My recommendation for a console is if you plan on watching blurays then the PS3 obviously. If you have no intention of watching blurays then go 360.

xbox 360 does NOT use 1080p, just wanna clarify that for anyone into media and thinking they can output 1080p movies over xbox.

In which case a 200 us dollar stand alone blu ray player, or an attached computer with a blu ray drive is a far cheaper and better option than buying a ps3 solely for blu ray.

I think you're wrong. There are a few games that are native 1080p on 360 and I believe the last update which coincided with the elite and hdmi cables it can display h.264 and wmv hd in 1080p. It might only do it with the hdmi connections but I'm sure I read that the 360 can now do 1080p.

no it cant, still limited to 1080i

http://www.xbox.com/en-au/support/xbox360/manuals/xbox360specs.htm

High-Definition Game Support All games supported at 16:9, 720p, 1080i and 1080p, with anti-aliasing
Standard-definition and high-definition video output supported

that says differently

so does this:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xbox_360#Comparison_of_features

The Core may output HD signals up to 1080p when connected to separately sold HDMI, Component, or VGA cables. It may also utilize a separately sold 20 or 120 GB hard drive

i dunno

You have a few things to consider;

1. Are you planning to game online? - Xbox Live vs. PSN (To me there are more Xbox Live Trinis than PS3)
2. Are you willing to pay for your online experience - Xbox Live (via CC or 12 Month Subscription Cards for full game support across the board) vs. PSN (Free but not supported by all games)
3. Do you have an HDTV to experience the 1080p goodness of either the Xbox 360 or PS3
4. If you don't have an HDTV, and you plan on using your PC monitor as an option, the Xbox 360 has a VGA Adapter, not sure about the PS3, the PS3 guys on here can tell you..
5. Games, Games and More Games...The Xbox 360 due to it's early start has a larger library of games, some of which are available for both systems, so the trade off is up to you
6. NXE vs. Home - Xbox 360 is set to launch the NXE this Wednesday and it is supposed to be its answer to Sony's Home on the PS3, another cool feature which is only available in the US and Canada is Netflix streaming on the Xbox 360, which pretty much turns the Xbox into a Movie Rental machine based on your Netflix account. 10,000+ movies in the Netflix library is available for streaming to your Xbox 360 and HDTV, pretty cool business decision..
7. RROD vs. PS3 Stability - Yes, the XBox 360 has had its failure rates, but with the new Falcon chips, the RROD has not been in the news at all, older versions of the 360 yes, but the newer 360's with the smaller cooler chip are more reliable

Bottom line, its your decision...Choose Wisely...Young Padawan!! LOL

don't understand #2 last time i checked the PS3 games that had online play USED the PSN

#7 doh get chain up wit dat falcon ship thing ppl with newer models still get it yuh jus doh hear it in d news

#6 dat is a nice feature 10,000 movies BUT y stream when u can dload from the movie store on the ps3 an put on a portable device like your PSP

one thing u forgot 2 mention an ppl overlook this but the 360 comes packaged WITH a headset so right out the box u able to communicate with your teammates/chat etc sony needs to bundle dat beauty of a headset with the console sooner or later cuz there are alot of PSN ppl withouts mics.

But with that being said u also get the annoying kids on XBL espicially in HALO.

#2 applies to ALL games on the system - ALL Xbox 360 games are supported by Live in that Achievements are all accepted in ALL games, PS3 just implemented a Trophy system recently and not ALL games are supported.

#7 as with all computer type devices, airflow is important. Keep it cool and it good...

#6 - UMMMM, who wants to cozy up with a loved one watching a movie on a PSP?? 55" HDTV for me buddy....

That's why I don't play Halo anymore, Gears of War 2 FTW!!

Yes, well you can do that on the PS3 also, which is something I also do, in the event the PS3 has a movie that the Xbox doesn't have yet, like Iron man came out on the PS3 the same day as DVD/BluRay release in stores, so I downloaded it that same day on the PS3 and it was all good...

But I still prefer my Xbox 360 for gaming and for gaming with other Trinis (90+ Trinis on my Friends List)...PS3 takes second for BluRay.

BLu_ViCe if you at work, why would you want to watch a movie at work? You are there to get a job done, not watch movies, I don't think your boss will appreciate you getting paid to watch movies...and as for being out somewhere? Who watching a movie while going out? That defeats the purpose of going out...you might as well stay home and watch the movie...unless you on a long flight maybe but that's about the only good thing about having a PSP to watch movies on...

You could say the same about the iPod touch which I have and use on the subway on my way to and from work in NY...but we are talking about the actual feature of streaming from a library of 10,000+ movies from Netflix which is a subscription based service, unlike paying for individual movies on the PSN network to rent or buy from what? 400 movies? 400 vs. 10,000, hmmm, I wonder which has more variety??

I from de bush, the online feature almost doesn't apply to me neither because of the sad fact that my blink still pulling stones at 64kbps...TSTT currently 'working on it'

I have figured that in reality the xbox 360 is worth my time and effort jus the pressure from the ps3 fan boyz in the office still have my mind two sided...

Basically im trying to catch the thanks giving sale in the states so i have till next week to make my decision. Any of you guys in the states could comfirm that the prices of games/accessories or maybe even the consoles might drop?

ummm i'd say at this point, go with the PS3

It's starting to pick up steam and games starting to roll out

The Xbox 360 is suberb, i own both and since i got the PS3 i ain't really touch the 360 except for Gears 2.

Live however blows away PSN by a mile.

PS3 Soul Calibur IV $49.00
PS3 Starter Kit $29.99

Also i'd check out Circuit City too, thaz where i bought my 360 for thanksgiving, they usually give you a gift card or a free game with purchase, it usually is good for the entire week of thanksgiving.

Gamestop does also have buy 2 get one free on used games until the sunday after Thanksgiving.
