Dead Rising

Doubt anyone here knew this movie existed. It's the live action adaptation of CAPCOM hit game.

I haven't see it yet, so I dunno if it's a gem or not, but I decided to post it here anyway. I'll post

my thoughts once I watch it.

Watched this last night. Oh My F***.

I was 'hooked' from the opening scene (lol)

The trailer thankfully doesn't give away the most f**ked up parts but it does a decent job. I found it a bit long too, so put some time aside and try not to watch it if you can't finish it in one sitting is my advice. Probably should have watched the first one first, but it is apparently totally unconnected to the first. Definitely going to look for it, and also a 3rd movie is supposed to beon the way / already out that is a prequel to this one.

This is on Netflix dubbed for those who have it.

i saw all 3. i thought the first was the best. part 2 was good too. 3 was kinda meh. the trailer for the first was messed up...

but I think it would be better if you post the ones that you've watched and think are true "gems of foreign cinema"

So the title of this thread will not become misleading.

Maybe make a new one for just posting upcoming releases. That way we will know which ones have been sanctioned by you as opposed to just foreign films in general.

i think ur right. posting movies i've never seen does indeed go against the purpose of the thread. things may be kinda slow though. i'm not really getting the time to watch all the movies i've been downloading. and i'll try to keep the devil titles to a minimum.

honestly, I've watched like 90% of the foreign films you've recommended and was not disappointed.

So even if updates are slow, based on past performance, I'm sure it would be worth the wait!

I've watched the 4 movies I posted on the 1st. I can fully recommend Bedevilled, I Saw the Devil and Blades of Blood. All grade A films. Be warned though, Bedevilled & I Saw the Devil were extremely graphic (especially the latter) so if you're not into intense violence, look elsewhere. There's also a fair amount of sexual content between the 2, so be doubly warned.

The 'Better Tomorrow' remake, although entertaining, killed it for me at the end. Let's just say it ended NOTHING like the original. Kind of a fail IMO.

If you have to see one of the 3 recommendations, make it 'I Saw the Devil'. It....was.....AWESOME!!!!

Haven't posted anything here in a while. Not coming across too many worthwhile foreign flicks lately. But here are a few that I can wholeheartedly recommend...

The Man From Nowhere

OMFG!!! Watch this movie NOW!!!! One of the best, if not THE best, Korean movie I've ever seen! Right up there with Brotherhood of War.

The classic that "The Departed" was based on. Number 227 in IMDb's Top 250 movies of all time. Need I tell you to watch? There's a second and third movie out. Yet to see the third (the second wasn't as good but still entertaining).

13 Assassins

Takashi Miike makin' traditional a samurai flick? Hells yeah! Bess story and gritty action. What's not to like?

yeah, 13 assassins wasn't what i expected either. but it was real mad non-the-less. i hadda watch it over though. the subs for my version had a lot of lines missing. so i didn't catch every detail of the story. btw, just watched infernal affairs 3. it was kinda meh. only watch it if u want to see how the trilogy ends.

@ Arc, best yuh add Bittersweet Life one time to yuh queue. yuh won't be disappointed.
