By todays standards is Duke Nukem really revolutionary or as kick ass as it was back in the day? I just dont understand the big hype over Duke Nukem still.

This

agreed.
Back in the day, YES Duke Nukem was awesome.
We shall see how the feedback on the game is closer to release.

Duke Nukem was the Chuck Noriss of First Person Shooters. The PC's answer to Nintendo's Golden Eye.

The penultimate multiplayer experience of its time. FPS at its finest, hard core, gritty and innovative. The weapons were vicious, the gameplay, frenetic.

Now we have Gears of War, Crysis, Serious Sam, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Borderlands and new comers like Blink on the horizon.

A lot of strong contenders to the throne, but there is no doubt...that the throne belonged to the Duke.

Honestly, I hope he reclaims it.

lol thanks for the history lesson Wyatt but im sure everyone here knows how epic Duke WAS

i am interested to see how it turns out u just wont see me goin "OMGZ TEH DUKE IS BACK I MUST BUY THIS GAME ASAP!!"

at most this will be a rent or used buy for me....just too much games coming out for ps3/360 in the coming months to warrant yet another shooter when i already being spoiled with Kz3, SOCOM 4, Brink, Resistance 3, Ghost Recon (this 1 might be 360), The Agency, Gears 3, Halo Reach

all those games come before Duke...at least for me

Duke Nukem should stay in retirement yes.  :laughing7:

This game is the poster child for 'too little...too late'.  I fear that its no longer relevant.

...and this is from someone who played the old PC verion TO DEATH eh.

lol, what wrong with you people?

Ever heard about Starcraft? Best of class RTS and it only took....I dunno....twelve years for the sequel to be released, and only 1/3rd of it at that.

And yet still, dominate the scene. Just like first time.

Who knows......maybe the same could happen in FPS land.

If any one else could do it, the Duke can.

I think duke is going to suck.why you ask, because of the consoles, most likely they are going to port the game for the 360 or ps3 and if it is done bad like every game these day it's going to suck.

That didn't suck now did it?

Lol

No love for the duke yes.

Lol

No love for the duke yes.

Thats why bc2 had so many bugs most came from the consoles ,like the pick up kit/disarm bug.If bc2 was made on the pc then ported to the consoles it would of been a better game than it is now.

I don't hate duke ,who could hate duke? not me

Judging from the feedback I've been seeing and hearing ppl gonna get this whether it sucks a$$ or not.

Yes Duke was a badass back in the day but most will get this game out of pure nostalgia and to be  part of "gaming history" so in the future they can say "I got and played Duke Nukem:Forever".

They also state that the gameplay is fun but it's still too early to tell. As for me I'll be liking this regardless of how bad or good it is. This was one of the first games I ever played as a young kid, from Duke's days in 2d shooters go straight up.

As Duke would say "Hail to the king baby!!"
