Yeah the Nokia is a smartphone with 128mb ram. The Sony is not. I had a whole PC at one time with 128mb of ram. THat on a phone is just insane.

For real.  That phone CPU and RAM more powerful than my 1st PC, which had a 266 MHz Intel Pentium I with 32 MB of EDO-RAM.

Insane is an understatement yes..... :awesome: .....and the WiFi is just the icing on the cake.

Well of course. I love the screen on the N95 and it has a longer rated talk time, but the sliding mechanism is precisely one of the things I dont like about the non 8gb N95. I've seen reviewers complain about the flimsy feel of the slider which is very worrying to me. They also note that the slider on the 8gb model feels more solid, but alas, i'm a die hard candy bar style fan and the fact that the n82 has such impressive specs is just more reason for the choice.

Yip there self. Got the last unit too! Just installed a couple apps on it, OfficeSuite, Skype. I must say, the wlan is a goddamn sweet addition you can talk whole day to your skype contacts as long as you're within range of a router connected to the net. This phone also takes wardriving to a whole new level. Although, unfortunately, a lot of people wised up and started to secure their networks. Must be a feww that are still unprotected.

Well the girl DID say that they had more of the phones at the south branch. They just had a couple in town for security reasons.

Applications I get from the usual sources. I have a whole pack of them that I still have to install not least of which is another player (bleh @ real player). Also think I saw an antivirus in the mix too.

Also you can just search google for freeware apps of course, but those might not be as powerful as paid ones. Installed that office suite last night and that thing is almost the same as using ms office on your pc. Good stuff.

I'll tell you about more interesting apps as I come across them. Oh you can try the skype if you havent already done so. Its a free download available from the site. Its a beta version. Havent actually tried it out though.

So philo what kind of apps were you talking about so? I got quite a few installed and running now which are as follows...

Office Suite V3 (Word/Excel editor and viewer. PPT as well? I'm not sure.)
MSDict (dictionary)
Best Calc (Scientific calculator)
Skype mobile
Best Clock (World clock/Alarm system/Calender etc)
Handy Taskman (Task manager)
MSN Messenger
Yahoo Go
Best Blacklist (Automatically disconnect unwanted callers heheh)
Call recorder (record all calls)
Mobitubia (Watch youtube and other videos online)
Core Player (Plays many many file types)
cClock (Displays a much larger clock than the default clock in standby mode, loads of configuration options)
NetQin mobile antivirus

Games, 3d pool (Pretty darn good) and Bejeweled, Table Tennis Star (reaaalll addictive)

Other thoughts: Didnt bother with a third party browser since the built in one is pretty good as it is. I dont see the need to change it. Tried Opera mini latest version and was not impressed.

Any other good things you can recommend?
