it have nothing to do with that, if you want to do it yourself fix up, i did it myself for gow1.0, and i did it my self for 4 others.
but when i find a file dat's a all-in-one, no-dvd, hamachi, and name change on the fly, with an undo feature. the choice was clear in doing it myself and juss using that for convienince.

You dont have to prove how verse u is to nobody but yourself, so if you know it easy to do it yourself, why not juss use d tool that makes everything even easier and convinenet and fast, and when d fix for 1.2 come out, u juss click 1 button to undo, and apply d new fix, instead of manualy having to undo everything

yes it definately woudl, and we setin it up for weekend swet. ventrilo is what i sugest, so u guys coudl check it out,
d server side simple enough, so i coudl fling it up if man want to start testin it out and using it.

Yup i was thinking dat same thing, dont want to stick on only gears, we will mix in d UT3 and DOW, run gears for about 2 more weakends, den mix in some Team Fotress 2, Company of heroes, and a racing game

The 1.2 patch is out for GOW so hopefully the "hamachi" fix for the 1.2 patch won't upset AVG with any likeness to an AutoIT worm virus.

Like I raise an ants nest with that antivirus talk. Someone hit us some links with good reviews of all the free antivirus programs. Let's see which came out on top.

On another note, I wonder what the GoW scene is like on that "Live"? Worth buying the game or is it dead with few players? If they could make it link with the xbox live GoW that would be great.

Heard Gringe say that Halo 2 on PC can play against Xbox live people. Don't know how true but that would truly blur the lines between console and xbox sweatage.

If bitdefender is the best, do be a pal and post a link.

Read the files so I know the existing "virus" hamachi fix for 1.1 doesn't work with the latest GoW patch.

Hopefully the hamachi fix for 1.2 (whenever that comes out) won't be picked up as a virus and everyone will be happy. (AVG users included)

Looks like more single player concerns though. No talk about addressing crashes or in game performance unfortunately.

Fixed Gameplay Issues in Version 1.2
The following issues are fixed with this title update.

1. When starting the game using Autorun, a player can lose preferences and custom map data.

With the shipped game, when a player starts Gears of War for Windows(r) with Windows Vista(r) using the shortcut from the Games Explorer, the player's account can lose changes made to preferences and any added custom content after a game session. This problem occurs because Autorun does not deelevate the user from Administrator to the
logged-on user account after startup. Therefore, all changes made to preferences and any added custom content belong to the Administrator account rather than the player's user account.

With this title update, the problem has been corrected. Autorun now properly deelevates to the logged-on player so that content and preference settings are saved to the player's profile rather than to the Administrator's account.

2. After game shutdown, sometimes a player's profile data is erased, including progress, COG tags, and preferences.

With the shipping version of Gears of War for Windows, a few players have reported that in some cases after a very quick game shutdown their profile information (specifically the campaign progress, COG tags, and personal settings) was reset to the shipped defaults. This problem occurs because at shutdown, the game program did not wait to receive confirmation that all data had been written to the profile before shutdown ended.

With this update, the problem has been corrected. All data should be retained after shutdown in all cases.

the hamchi fix is only being picked up as a virus by you, so everyone is already happy, you are the only one who seems to be going through your menstrual cycle.
