GATT seems to focus only on COD4

Firstly, Awesome and Crixx have said everything I would want to say on this issue and probably better than I would say it myself. Well done.

I'm a little dissappointed in Messiah's attitude to this whole CoD business. We already expressed interest to play you in the games of your choice. Some members already took up the challenge. No need to go all "anti-cod" on us.

Take your lixxx like a man. Buy the game and you won't regret it. A few weeks from now, you'll be enjoying multi player bliss. GATT or no GATT.

A million gamers around the world can't be wrong. Just check the stats online. (multiplayer stats don't lie, cause gamers don't play shit games for long)

Just look at all of this "positive energy" saying....messiah, join the CoD4 side. If you still decide to skip the Game of the Year FPS title for less green pastures, then that's on you. Don't say you weren't told.

CoD4 will still dominate until better comes along, worldwide, period. The servers will still be overflowing with gamers enjoying it's goodness.

It's fine to promote and encourage people to play games you like. Nothing wrong with that. It's a shame to do it and be calling out CoD4 or any game for that matter, like it's a bad thing. Dirtying the water of otherwise fantastic games. Shame indeed.

Furthermore...it really is a slap in the face to say that GATT only focuses on CoD 4.

In fact, an almost darwinian process  determines which game is played. The best and most intense games rise to the top, regardless of what mods or admins say or do. In Dota's genesis on the scene, both Crixx and I thought the game was utter rubbish. Gatters played it regardless and couldn't get enough of it. It became one of the greatest sweat staples. Joining the ranks of Sof2, Starcraft, Quake 3, Savage, Generals, and others before it.

You're new here, but you'll soon realize no one dictates what you play in GATT. Even at the Gls, all the games are installed and you're free to click on whichever one you like to sweat. If you want to sit down and play Spellforce and Fable whole day, you can do just that (and people have).

It's funny. Recently had a notion of a "TimeLine" showing which games dominated the scene over the years. Didn't get around to doing it, but that would, in a simple graph, illustrate how many games we've "sweated" since inception of the association. Everything from Smash Bros to Lineage 2. We've also got pockets of PS3 "resistance" (Pun intended) and XBOX 360 freedom fighters. Guys on the arcade/ fighting game scene as well, not to mention Naruto which was nothing short of a craze at one point (the game, not the anime). No 1 trick pony here.

PS...moving and shooting in CoD4 is a lot more practical with the P90. Less of a spread on the reticule and a larger clip.

Its part of the learning and bettering experience. One of the main reasons for the levelling aspect is for people to learn to start from zero and increase their skill over time. Pay your dues and at the end you'll be skilled and you'll sit back and feel satisfied with all the progress made.

Phoenix, you're denying yourself an awesome experience. The journey to level 55 is one definitely worth making. It's truck loads of fun, the unlocks are rewarding and practical. Not to mention the experience gained is almost a pre-requisite for kicking ass. The familiarity you'll get with the maps and various play modes is priceless and carries over well into sweatage.

Remember, you level up by playing multiplayer so it's a win win situation. You want to sweat CoD4? You want to get good at it? You want to get to level 55? The answer to all those questions is....Play the multiplayer.

my reason... simply: time...

between school, work, and studying for certs i hardly have time for anything... so when i ready to game... i just want to jump in a sweat, and enjoy a gg... @ the end of the day... i doh really have time to grind... else i woulda be on WoW...

i game with the natural ability to pick up a game in no time... but the kind of advantages that comes with level 50, skill alone is not enough to win (yes a lvl1 may shake up d scene.. may... but he'll never win... neways i'm signing out on this issue... as far as awesome goes... is not your challenge is mine... bring it

As for you Phoenix, you're not making any sense at all. Did you not read where it was stated that leveling up in CoD4 = playing the bloody multiplayer???

That's precisely what you want to do right? sweat game? and that's how you level up, by sweating the game. You jump in and sweat. Could be for 30 minutes, could be for an hour. It doh matter, and you'll level up, all in your own time and be sweating all the while so doing.

now reading this thread makes me wonder why all this heat has to come about, i mean, we are all gamers right? if someone prefers to play another game, why should we care about what they want? Why should we poke others and guess that since they got owned in another game that they hate it. This is a rather disappointing thread. Disappointing because of all the responses i have read, makes me think twice of the attitudes of some in here. This is a gaming community, an association, there will be differences, but why must we settle it like this, and without proper thought, make silly reasons why this person should do something i want them to do and vice versa..

with all that aside. i will continue the promotion of unreal sweats, the cod4 scene is still strong based on it's popularity, but to attract more gamers to the website we need variety not so? so unreal tournament 3 is a start, soon to be added is Soulstorm, Gears of War, and any other PC game that gamers see fit.. why only have a triangle, when u can get a square, trapezoid, circle etc.....

Phoenix can play online WITH men that he knows and level up. I leveled up playing with arcman, captain awesome, berserk, china, ipixxx, etc... All the way from level 1 to level 55. He don't have to be by himself amongst strangers to level up. You talking thing you don't know. Stop talking, buy the game and try it. You will see things differently then (or your money back) As in, I will pay you your money back for the game. Seriously, I will. If it will get you to give the bloody issue a rest! lol

If you don't want to do that, then take CoD out your mouth and talk about ut3, gears of war and soulstorm (which I'll more than be happy to sweat you in)

But i do think, as we are all mature individuals (hopefully), we should put all this ridiculous comments aside and see how best we can build this site... that is what the members are here for right?

i'm actually proud to be a member of this site, since there are little, to i believe actually NO gaming folds/clans in Tobago, so i'm proud to be participating in this forum.

Again i say, cod4 is popular, since this site is about promoting games, why not promote the friendly gameplay of cod4 better, attract more members to the site, also, in addition to cod4, we can add unreal tournament 3, gears of war, DiRT, even mc Crysis.. my intention is to promote variety as long as the interest is there, and once we promote it, we can make this site bigger than the "rest".. please stop making competitive useless responses and try to build from our disagreements..

quoting myself again.. gatt should promote more games in their line up, since cod4 is the most "popular", let it be at the top, other games will fall in queue.... being a bit annoyed by your post.. get used to it? i played cod4 because of gatt, i told redfish about cod4 online, and he played like a monk.. so i'm used to it.. wtf, imo read and stop being like a mountain river..

Summary -

Playing COD4 = Levelling Up.... Be it Lan, online and whatever...so if you don't want to level up...don't play the game because it is UNAVOIDABLE.

UT3 is a great game... I'm a fan of the series... Personally COD4 and UT3 are my 2 fave multiplayer FPS's because of the 2 diff flavours. Realism and Insanity.

Trinidad has many gamers, not all are on GATT.
It so happens many of them on GATT love COD4 and less love UT3.

Many of the COD4 gamers are open to playing other titles with others for fun.

To promote video game, you need to play video games.
We all here do.

Seriously this dispute stems from many opinions and statements posted in this thread. There are many outcomes to this dispute. One person will hsay what he believes is right , the other says what he feels is right... Conflict of Interests...

My point is... Let's just end this dispute if any, and just play some games...
We Own, We Get Owned in the end its just fun, and we don't need to have debates over the different preferences of gamers.

What if GATT focuses only on COD4? Does it affect your life in anyway?

If you wanna play UT3, start a thread and people will post and join in the sweat...no biggie...
Its just very fortunate that COD4 sweats are already organised here on GATT and should not be an issue of we not wanting to play and promote other games.
