Now, Ace Ventura was one of my all time favorites, and normally, this would make me flip over and do somersaults.
Until I found out this:

A third installment, featuring the son of the original Ace, is scheduled for a 2008 release. Jim Carrey, however, is not involved in this entry. Ace's father is also introduced in this installment.

You know, we pretty much all already know this movie is going to blow more chunks than Fat Albert holding a Holy Hand Grenade, but you haven't seen true terror yet.

The part that really made me facepalm was when Ace Jr. tries to pull his dad's old "COME TO ME, MY JUNGLE FRIENDS!" only to have a mere two parrots perch on his arms. And it looked like he was damn uncomfortable doing it, too. EPIC FAIL.


No, really.
Who would even think this was a good idea to begin with?

Many of the things that made Ace a laugh riot (talking with his ass cheeks, the crude innuendos, spectacularly bad driving and his romps with the women in the movie) can't even carry across to a kid's movie. On top of that.....since when did Ace turn around multiple times as if he was paranoid? The movie seems to imply that he does, and I know he doesn't act like that.

On top of that, the kid's fat. I'm sorry if I'm coming across rather crudely here, but the KID. IS. FAT. Not P-H 'phat'. 'MAN SHOW BOY' FAT. I'm really having a hard time believing that Ace can have a son so porky. It's somewhat killing the illusion that he's his father's son, especially when you consider the fact that Ace was rather lanky. And also, this movie seems to imply that, to compensate for the obvious loss of the crude jokes that made Ace Ventura funny, the kid's going to be a klutz.

No, I am not making that up.
Watch as he knocks over a suit of armor (which happens to be placed in the middle of a hallway for NO REASON) and tell me what you see.

I am sorry, but I consider this movie non-canon.
There is just....no way in hell I am ever going to do the first two films the injustice of being associated with this festering pile of pig shi-

Yeah. I also don't give a crap that the original creators thought this up. Like I said, Alzmeimer's is a hell of a disease.


But, you know. I've said a few times before that I don't really judge anything unless I've seen it at least once, so, like the stickler for gruesome self-punishment that I am, I'll bum a copy off of somebody (because I ain't going to buy the DVD. Not for all of the tea in China) and just see how terrible this crapfest really is. Self torture makes you smart, you know.
