3dMark Vantage out. (Don't bother open if u have anything less than an 8800)

Its been a while in coming. The ultimate in graphics benching. As you all know, its vista/dx10 only. Those with unworthy systems, dont even bother to continue reading, you should have never even opened this thread. Those with worthy systems, get ready to "ban yuh belly" if u running this thing.

Same old story, available from the usual sources. Here's a run down on min and rec specs...

Minimum

x86/x64 single core CPU with SSE2 support. Performance similar to Intel Pentium D 3.2GHz or better
Fully D3D10/SM4.0 compliant graphics card, 256MB
1024MB Memory
2GB of free disk space
Windows Vista (Server editions not supported)
Recommended

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 or equivalent AMD CPU
Fully D3D10/SM4.0 compliant graphics card, 512MB
2048MB Memory
2GB of free disk space
Windows Vista (Server editions not supported)

Additionally, following requirements must be met to run each of the four available presets with the Advanced and Pro versions:

Entry - 128MB DX10 Video Card and a monitor capable of displaying 1280x1024 resolution
Performance - 256MB DX10 Video Card and a monitor capable of displaying 1280x1024 resolution
High - 512MB DX10 Video Card and a monitor capable of displaying 1680x1050 resolution
Extreme - 512MB DX10 Video Card and a monitor capable of displaying 1920x1200 resolution

Pretty disgusting huh. Its gonna take YEARS for us to have rigs that will pwn this thing.

Tomshardware did a review , you can only run the benchmark once for free , so you ought to wait for updated drivers to get a high as possible score.

 I chilling with my x1800xt still , aside for Starcraft 2 , there aren't any big games releasing this year... i might even hold out till next year january.

8800s and 3870s will be outdated as of May/June .

Vantage is pretty ugly guys. Its pretty ugly. I get around 13fps at worst but damn, the graphics are oohhhggglllaayyy. Plus, I cant even get to see my damn score afterwards. There's no crack btw.

I JUST read a lil review of vantage. It got good reviews as it 'supposed' to be a GAME oriented benchmark, not just synthetic values like all it's predecessors... however that err... Virus... I mean VISTA requirement means I ain't touching it with a ten km poll at least for another year or two... heck I may NEVER touch it, Windows XP ftw, and perhaps Windows 7 after that... FIAH for Vista

i do believe when windows 7 comes out, if it still holds that name, that gaming in directx 10 shall finally become mainstream as directx9 gaming is now, vista seems to be the major limitation in the sales of directx 10 games, as a matter of fact, i don't think there is any major retail game that is solely direct x 10, they have it as an option because they seem to realize that the majority of the market consists of windows xp users.
