BEIJING, April 23 (Xinhuanet) -- Alia Sabur, 19, was announced the youngest full-time college professor in history by the Guinness Book of World Records, media reported Tuesday.

That happened last month, when the venerable publication named Sabur the world's youngest college professor.

It's no surprise if you take a look at her life: The child prodigy from Northport enrolled at Stony Brook University in America at age 10 and played clarinet with the Rockland Symphony Orchestra at 11.

When the New York child genius was 14 she earned her bachelor's degree. Sabur was 18 when she was hired Feb. 19 as a professor in the Department of Advanced Technology Fusion at Konkuk University, in Seoul of ROK.

"It's really a great honor to be in the company of such great scientists," the now 19-year-old said.

Sabur is set to start physics studies and teaching next month at Konkuk. For now, she is teaching math and physics courses at Southern University in New Orleans. She said classroom teaching in Seoul will be challenging because she doesn't speak Korean. "I can speak math and music," she said.

The previous record was held by a student of physicist Isaac Newton, Colin Maclaurin, who set the mark in 1717.

She doesn't look half bad either. Awesome. Good for her.
*Of course, some neurotic parents will push their poor child to the brink of PSYCHOSIS just to beat that record.*

What I find amazing too is that she is a prodigy in both arts and science.

Right and Left side of the brain on steroids.

Those who excel at music are usually great at math. Gifted. I'm uncertain that music exists on a parallel side to mathematical calculation.
What can you do to end the hunger?
It's no surprise that many will die with the coming shortage of food
When there is no grain to feed the butchered cows
When there is nothing to feed yourselves...
Then you will see that money can't be eaten.

Well, that's awesome.

Sadly, though, I probably wouldn't hit it.

They are one in the same, without creativity you cant excel at logic... Cause if u dont understand the concept your brain can't know how to manipulate it into whatever it imagines

Music and math are totally connected because to play music you have to have a constant rhythm in your head, as well as being to add the value of all the notes on a score of music. No matter how creative it sounds, it all comes down to an assigned value. Yes you can give or take sometimes depending on the type of music (e.g. Jazz), but you gotta stick to the timing or else you can't play well.
