Besides the top of the line 45nm
new egg has this one up now
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115037Wolfdale core
Its dual core , 3 ghz, 6MB of l2 cache. from new egg comments it seems to be ridiculously fast as well as a monster overclocker.
good price though
Ok did some research.
Stock, these new processors only have about a 3% performance increase compared to the e6850
They consume the same power but generate less heat on idle
On load they consumer less power as well as generate less heat.
They have a whole bunch of instructional advantages that, once software starts using them, will give them a pretty big advantage in the media processing fields (audio, compression, video, rendering blah blah blah)
Their true power lies in their immense overclockerability. (is that a word?>?? lawl)
4.0ghz on air from fsb changes is pretty damn good.
this again reopens teh quad vs dual core arguaments.
is an air cooled 4.0ghz dual core monster, better than a 3.0ghz overclocked quad core monster?
