They should have COD4 for xbox 360 and PC. It would be a shame if they didn't have both.
I'm still unsure about the team thing. It seems like your team has to consist of people playing all the games to win the grand prize which is silly.
If you have a team for cod 4 and you win you should be sent to the Direct tv to represent.

Its a Gamefest... Not call of duty fest and we're playing by their rules people. Besides that, the winning team
gets sponsored air fare and spending money by our Animation Studio. Its not a small Gamefest like all the others
you've heard about... But this Gamefest is only one of many! Provided that our partner sponsors are pleased with
this year's turn out. it could take place twice a year... maybe more!
Oh and for the ones who thought this was some bogus fest like the casino that I quickly proved wrong, next year,
the prize money will double!!!

i agree with chinara to an extent but with a different reasoning. Please understand I'm not trying to undermine your event as I've always wanted something big to happen on the local gaming scene and its something I've spent alot of time trying to do over the last few years.
Our local scene is severly under-developed to the point where everyone seems to play games that are either outdated or very popular but not included in other major tournaments. There have been efforts to change this before with little success thus far, it's something all the major orgs in tnt are working on (or so i'd hope i know TG is working with iStand on some things along these lines). We can't possibly hope to be anything more than a joke if we don't develop the LOCAL scene first before trying to penetrate the international scene.
As I said before the lineup of games is solid and the wanting to run an ironman styled event is admirable, but just won't work in Trinidad.
- No one plays DOA4 seriously, yes its in wcg but the fact remains that it sucks ass and no one cares about it outside of perfect legend lol
- Counter Strike Source tournaments have been done quite a few times locally so thats cool.
- Fifa 07....but theres Fifa 08
- COD4 great game but there will be a division between console and pc players
- WOW - well it is digital crack
It's great that you're trying to promote diversity and I for one can appreciate it (lord i fed up hear DOTA but that is the biggest game locally), but to be quite honest I don't think that there's a 5 man team locally that can play each of the games lined up competantly enough to be taken seriously abroad. In the end I honestly feel that there will be a set of 5 man teams that can play 1 or 2 games well, but will not be able to do anything serious in the rest of games, but will just be there for the large prizes (nothing wrong with that, happens everywhere, but it does little to help the hole that the local scene seems to be in)
This brings back memories of Name of the Game Expo in 2002, the main games were Virtua Fighter 4 and DOA3. No one played either of those games and boy did it show. The only reason anyone even showed up to play those is because in the back of their minds they all thought the same thing
"hey if I can win I could win a PS2 or a xbox, I go take a chance yes" What resulted was everyone mashing buttons with no idea of what was happening just to win a PS2 or xbox.
Something similar happened with the World Cyber Games qualifying last year, it wasn't so much the game selection but rather mismanagement and promotion. They had games that are still very popular locally, but the attendance was lacklustre. In the end I don't know who won, hell I don't know if there were proper qualifiers for games other than Starcraft and Warcraft, and if there was I'm sure the best possible teams and reps were not selected.
As for the rest of games, that has me confused if there are 5 main games then why are there 5 more non-related titles, and what happens to the people that want to play the non official games only (SF3, Tekken 5, NFS). If these were standalone events that anyone could enter I could understand, like I said I'm confused, please clear this up because right now the only games I'd like to enter is Street Fighter 3 and Smash Bros Brawl.
Gosh I feel like this overly fragmented, I real tired.
If any team looking for a Street Fighter 3 player I'll be glad to jump on, can't really play anything else on the game list though.
EDIT -
PS I know how it is to have to answer to sponsors, so doh worry if this sounds harsh, is all love

its not that really, it is possible as other countries have better developed competitive scenes and then there's xbox live and other online gaming options that we simply just don't have down here.

xbl competitions aside
iam saying how can u randomly throw together a bunch of unrelated games
and have a stipulation on your tournament, that for your team to advance they must win in all game categories
and then be expected to compete competently in every single category??
so if they threw barbie play house fun time in the mix
are teams expected to be expert cod4,doa,nfs,cs,soul calibur AND barbie play house fun time players?

I guess thats where the clans come into play, and I'm sure they DO (do not doh) reveal their lineups well ahead of time so teams have time to learn games. Speaking of which I just saw tougeki's super battle opera lineup..wow seems really solid
SSF2T, KOF98, SF3 3S, Arcana Heart, GGXXAC, Melty Blood Act Cadenza vB2, Tekken 6, VF5 vC and *gasp* Hokuto No Ken.
I have most of last years DVDs, it was pretty damn good. I should pass the Soul Calibur 3 one your way

Sneaky Sneaky man. Must l33ch vids. You've been holding out for long enough man. Share the wealth.
I agree with Crixx and RB on this one. Obviously, you can't expect people to only NOW see a game roster to pick up a game or games and expect them to excel at them. What's worse, is if said newbies win and are sponsored the trip to Disneyland or wherever, they would do shame coming up against people who have been playing those same games for years or at least considerably longer.
I'd like to take this time to join RB in saying that I will be a gun for hire should anyone require a 3s player. Will practice only if you pay me.

It means if you have your own game controller you can walk with it to play.
Any how after hearing your suggestions (and really crazy complaints)
since this years gamefest is all about the players, we're once again giving you the choice.
You got 2: You can
a. We have the competitions based on one game each: But, if we do that the prize will only be 10,000, it will be based on the best 3 - One Sports - One Fighting - One First Person Shooter: e.g: COD4 and it will be two festivals where you can win 10,000 for each in your respective catagory and raise the stakes every year.
b. We keep it as is
And as for the Games: The ones with only descriptions are the ones they want us to use for competing at the Gamefest. The other games are the ones we're adding to the the list of games at the gamefest as we go along (List for New Games Coming this Wednesday) But after voicing some of your complaints to the board, they seem to be very understanding... so once again people,
please vote wisely... times running out. You got two days before we bring it back to the Board. (Of course the rules
will change after the votes are in)
As usual suggestions are always welcome, we want to make this fest the largest ever and have it every year.
Creating new Voting Post: Vote your Favourite Game For Gamfest 08

The ten grand plan sounds great because honestly TnT dont have a huge contingent that have enough time to play so many games.Three games sounds sufficient because alot of trinbagonians indulge in things other than games (Gamers with lives hmmm do i smell a clan being born AHEM)

well heres an alternate suggestion
Have the main games (whatever 3 are decided) and do the rest of games on a side tournament scene on the side for small money (couple hundred for each winner). I've done this before to attract more people to events, it works out nicely.
