Well I finally got to building my new system here at home, set everything up very carefully, but when powering on the system, I'm getting the POST beep error code associated with an issue with the video card. After the beep code, then you hear the fan on the video card power up, but of course the system does not boot.
Everything I've tried, hasn't been able to change a thing. I've tried swapping the card in the second PCIe slot available, adjusting the connectors for the power connection to the video card, taking all unnecessary devices off from the PSU, cleaning the connectors on the video card as well as both PCIe slots, powering up without having the PCIe power connector on....and nothing helps.
Configuration:
Intel C2D E6600.
2x1GB Crucial Ballistix DDR2-800 RAM.
XFX Geforce 7900GS video card.
Omega 600W power supply (note, this PSU does not have a PCIe power connector, I am using a converter, which uses 2 Molex connectors to supply power).
If anyone can suggest anything that can be done, it will be highly appreciated. If more info about the system is required, just ask. I just hope that the board itself doesn't have a problem....
