Gears Of War was not released in 2007.  Actual release date: 12th November 2006,
so I guess it doesn't qualify.

It was released for PC in 2007...I think it should qualify, as long as the PC version is specified.

One thing i wanted to point out though, I have a european release of Final Fantasy 3 on the Ds, this was released in 2007 but the us and Japanese versions were out in 2006, so in the event that i wanted to nominate that title, would i be able to?

yup, as with every other award show, if a game had an independent release date a year after it can still be nominated...
So you have a 5 days to nominate...don't hold out

So Gears does qualify arcman... (I've now started playing it on pc myself)
