We previously reported that the new Nvidia mainboards had been delayed from the November release date because of incompatibilities with Intel's new 45nm chips, and that information has now been confirmed by HP, of all people.Rahul Sood, no stranger to these pages, said that "We haven't launched Intel's 45nm processor as planned... the bottom line is we're working on a solution for Nvidia SLI, but at the moment there isn't one."Sood went on to place the blame squarely at the green team's feet, saying that "It's not an issue of Intel's chip reliability, it's an issue of platform stability... It's not a pretty situation."For its part, Nvidia appeared to nix rumours that the new Intel SLI chipset had slipped into 2008, telling ChannelWeb that the new chips would launch next month with full Penryn support. Just how 'hard' that launch will be we don't know, and it could be that the ultimate Crysis rig won't arrive until 2008.
