Golden Sun 2 questions

I just started Golden Sun 2 and I entered the Gold Code but the game just gave me Level 99 on Isaac and the others and all the Djinn.
Now is there any way to transfer your Clear Data from the previous GS besides through Link Cable? I was told by using the Codes you could transfer your own data and that the different 'levels' of cods would let you transfer certain things.

yuh have tuh get yuh golden sun 1 an get a second gba an link it an yuh could transfer de data dat way of course if yuh usin an emulator das impossible, an de codes yuh talkin bout is de gold silver and bronze bronze gives u just the djinni, silver gives u djinni and level and gold gives u everything

yeah ya supposed the get the code at the end of gs 1 but ya cud get it in any site

i fine dat super retarded!!! why dont they just let u transfer uh data with link insted of typin in a code that takes u a 1/2 hour to type out and you odveously gonna make ure self lv 99 with all digin!!

Sending Data To the Lost Age
------

Here is how to send your data to the Lost Age.  Note: You will need a Clear
Data file that you get when you beat the game.  This DOES NOT mean an empty
slot for saving.

•Turn on your GameBoy Advance with Golden Sun in it.
•Proceed to the menu where you choose to make a New
File/Save/Battle/Copy/Erase.
•Hold the Shoulder Buttons (L and R), Hold Left, press B once.  Note: You
should still be holding L, R and Left after pressing B.
•The menu will disapear for about a second.  When it reapears you can release
L, R, and Left.  You should now see an option to Send data if you were
successful.

In the Send option you will have the option of sending your Clear Data via a
link cable to another GameBoy Advance with the Lost Age in it or you can write
down a password.  The passwords go from Gold to Bronze, with Gold being the
longest and Bronze being the shortest.
