New local political party wants to make ganja legal

well i dunno if to post this here or in the politics section, but im not posting this as a discussion, so i put it here....

THE legalisation of marijuana is the main plank upon which a Rio Claro-based political party is expected to contest the November 5 general election.

Leader of the party Narase Gopaul, 37, a self-employed businessman of Rio Claro, said yesterday that the Environmental Reform Act (ERA) is also advocating the retention of the Trinity Cross as a national emblem. "This is to show that we believe in God," Gopaul said.

The ERA's symbol is the cross.

Other planks which the party will be bringing to the nation are life imprisonment for rape, no sex until the attainment of 18 years, and its objection to abortion.

"We already have seven candidates, and I will be contesting the Mayaro seat," said Gopaul.

He said his party has a good chance at the election because of the amount of work they have been doing in the Rio Claro and Mayaro districts.

The symbol of the party was approved by the Elections and Boundary Commission and was published in the Trinidad and Tobago Gazette.

This is the second "party" this year i've seen try to do this. Earlier this year, there were these rasta men who came on a radio show with Umbala, and them fellas were reaaall kicksy, I coulda SWEAR one of them was Sizzla...if you know Umbala, I don't have to tell you what happened to them in the end.
