The company's microprocessor division now has over a 50 per cent share of the retail market, dwarfing rival Intel.In fact, market shares in all sectors have been on the up-and-up for AMD, with an increase in servers, desktop PCs and laptops - with the laptop share rising by nearly 100 per cent over the second quarter.Research geeks are putting the boom down to old Hector Ruiz's plan to make the Greater China market a top priority for the company. AMD's nabbing of Intel's original manufacturing partners is also a major reason for the boost, reckon analysts. µ
