Yeah...so I went ahead and got TWO of these muhfuggas for the top of the HAF-X...

Cooler Master Mega Flow 200mm  (R4-LUS-07AR-GP).
I included a 92 mm and 120 mm fan for you to get a sense of scale.

Those bad-boys can move 110 cfm of air at only 700 rpm...and the HAF-X can take two up top.

This weekend is gonna be great.  :happy0203:

Rig has now moved into some brand new digs...  :happy0203:

This case is an absolute joy to work with.  Can you believe its even roomier
than the Antec 1200?  Thats no mean feat...considering the size of that muhfugga.

I am now a complete fan of tool-less drive bays.  No screwdrivers required.

...AND the hot-swap bays work like a charm.

...AND overall system temps down by about 6 degrees.

Did I mention that there are WHEELS?

Man, the win just keeps on coming.  :)

One of the internal HDD bays is SSD-capable right off the bat, and the two hot-swap
bays have the necessary screw holes, so using a SSD is a piece of cake.

The case itself was $200 US.  Luckily, the 3rd-party seller I got it from (GizmosForLife)
offered free standard shipping to Miami.

Ezone's charges however, went like this:

Shipping: $710.40 TT  (37 lbs @ $3.00 US/lb)
Insurance: $6.40 TT
VAT: $225.00

A grand total of $2221.80 TT.

I catered for about $2300 TT in all, but still, this arbitrary-application-of-VAT foolishness has really
got to stop.  Somebody in Ezone, or Customs, needs to make up their f@#king minds which items
incur VAT charges and which do not.  I am fed up of the guessing-game.  Its not like I'm bringing
in something new each time.  Its the same old shit I've brought for years.

Yeah...apparently VAT is applied to cases now.  :(  Who knew?

Pros:

- Great cooling potential
- Innovative layout
- Distinctive styling
- Sliding front door with auto close
- Hot Swap Bay included

Cons:

- Only 1 Hot Swap Bay included
- Only 2 USB ports on front, no e-SATA
- Not a tool-less installation process (except for 5.25 bays)
- VGA to DVI adapters can not be used
- Extreme Chassis deserve extreme accessories (Only two cable ties???)
- Looks not for everyone (or even most people)
- Way too much plastic
- Price

I'll have the successor to my Haf 932 over the Raven any day. It's a decent case, but not decent enough XD

Strong Points

    * Innovative design where the motherboard is rotated 90º so the rear part of the motherboard is available on the top of the case, improving thermal management and also making it easier to install and remove cables from the PC.
    * Top-notch quality.
    * Individual speed controllers for the three internal fans accessible from the top panel.
    * Dust filters for the internal fans and for the power supply fan.
    * Anti-vibration mechanisms for the hard disk drives.
    * Support for one 2.5” disk drive.
    * Far better priced that Raven RV01, providing a good cost/benefit ratio for the enthusiast user.

Weak Points

    * With only three hard disk drive bays this case may not please the high-end enthusiast with lots of hard disk drives.
    * Top 5 ¼” bay doesn’t come with a screwless retention mechanism.
    * Could have four USB ports.
    * Could have one eSATA port.
    * Could have come with black thumbscrews for fastening daughter boards.
    * Could have come with black slot covers for a better aesthetics.

Still would go with Haf X

notice how the cons never spoke about its coolin being one...

yeh i guess everyone to their own
but remember
i have 3 180mm fans blow air upwards across the entire case..
so thats cool air against ALL the components

under high OC my 480s blow warm air... and my case temp never gets more than 34c

even doomtack was shocked and he has a HAF 922 with high speed fans in every corner.. i even tested it without my AC on for even playing fields and i got no more than 5c across everything temp..
cpu
system
videocard

but like i told arc

the haf x is still my dream case!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If money was no object, that Obsidian would be mineee.

Sadly, I wont spend the kind of money you all do on cases. Much rather stick with my antec 900 and run a few degrees hotter.

...but its interesting that all the cons on the RV-02 have been addressed by CM on the HAF-X eh.  :)

 - more than three drive bays?              check
 - tool-less retention on all drive bays?   check
 - four USB ports up front?                   check
 - eSATA port up front?                       check
 - black thumbscrews for everything?     check
 - black slot covers?                             check

You get what you pay for.  The price of the Raven RV-02 is considerably less than the HAF-X.
