Here's another trailer. Looks very promising. Has the over the top grim style of the games. I'm not sure about Mila Kunis as Mona Sax though. On the other hand, I did buy Keri Russell in MI:3 so I could just be nitpicking.

Also just how does one embed a flash video in here. I thought I would put the contents of the src attribute in the embed tag of the embed code in between the [ flash ] bbcode tags, but that obviously didn't work.

The movie was alright, not seriously over the top, but watchable, ummmmmm i nice cinematics but because the bullet time thing has been exhausted in film not much going for it there,, acting was nice, , cant reall say what was awful bout it though.

A man say 'tuesday globe' yes.  :shakehead:

Sad to say, but its attitudes like that that help to explain why the local cinema industry is just about DEAD,
outside of CC8 and Movie Towne, and why Windsor cinema in Arima is now a f@#king LONG JOHN SILVER!!!

Disappointing.

It was watchable, but just disappointing.

You are better of playing the game all over again.

At least Uwe Boll didn't direct it.

Personally I didnt like this movie too much. It was.....okay. Nice cinematics and effects, action...people looking for these things will enjoy it.
The problem to me lies in trying to bring unrealistic elements (bullet time/painkillers for revival) into this seemingly realistic world. They never bridged the gap, so it just looked "lame" when the man takes 10 bullets to his body and lives...when in truth he "can" do that. The film didnt really focus on what made Max Payne so unique in the games, which was the bullet time.
They tried to show SOMEthing by slowing time for enemies and speeding up Max, with some ridiculously short slowdown/bullet time scenes but im sure allot of people didnt even notice that with respect to how it ties into the game. The story was....eh.

On the other hand the "average" action flick people enjoyed the movie.....i.e. those that shamefully never saw, played or even knew about the game. I guess in that light it was good? For me? I think the story could have gone in a completely new direction, and revenge could have been a REALLY good drive for Max and portrayed in a much more forceful way.

They should have played more on the death of his family scene, the game had an entire level where you were in Max's mind running through a burning house with them yelling for his name. Part of it was there in the movie....but it just never stuck to together well.

It was okay none the less.
