So ive had it with ATI and their $hitty drivers, Awesome is officially back in the green camp with a pair of spanking new GTX460's.

I have not been blown away by a video card like I am now IN MY LIFE.

The image coming from my 40" TV is TEN TIMES BETTER than I could ever get my ATI card to show. I spent days trying to get this tv to show decent, only decent. I never was really 100% satisfied.

With nvidia, within MINUTES the display is 10x better.

NVIDIA >>> Ati in terms of display quality, at least for HDTV's. Please b'leedat.

I just HAD to test out good ole Bad Company 2 and I've never seen the game as sharp clean and clear on this TV as im seeing this now. Wow, just...WOW.

Vantage score below, again, just one card, ppu disabled. Somebody please please please lend me a sli connector NOW na.

And the best part is that I am running ONE card and getting 80+ fps at max settings, 1080p while TWO supposedly more powerful (and more expensive) 5850's  were getting 100+ fps (poor iq). Imagine what SLI could do. Jeez.

JUST what I wanted to hear, but I hope the issues I'm having with this 295
are just limited to this model...

...although, it really does suck that Nvidia does not provide SLI bridges with their high-end cards.  You asking people to pay so much money for a card, and you can't even provide a bloody piece of plastic with two connectors and some copper!!?  Ballz.

Ah seriously eyeing two of these as well...or two 470s.  (* note to self: get SLI bridge *)

I cannot wait to see the performance numbers for SLI.

My only concern with these Fermi cards though is the power consumption.  T&TEC actually
have me concerned about power consumption...now that I'm paying my own bill.

GF104 (gtx460) which is the modified version of the gf100 of 470 and 480 lineage was redesigned and now pulls a lot less current.

Also, these cards are a good inch or inch and a half shorter than the 5850. Bloody good stuff.

Ballz @  no sli connector for real. I still cussin but the iq and performance simmering me down a lil.

Because of the mafia II game?

Amazon have the 470 for $260. Loathe to jump into the gf100 based Fermis on account of their size, heat and power consumption.

I'd be much more tempted to wait till nvidia updates the high end to gf104 before making any purchases (of anything better then a 460, which is friggin awesome).

For me, these 460's are a temporary measure until the above happens or a new generation comes out.

@O/C  I know the 470 is a sick card but my father would go ape $h!t with the spike in the T&TEC bill due to me having a card like that lol.

For all you know I'll just wait until ati and nvidia's new cards release later on which would cause the price of the 460 to more than likely drop.

I have no problem in being one or two generations behind in GPU, as my wallet aint so deep
