i personallly think it's time to give 3dmark06 a rest, give it the final dagger to the heart. it's an insult to our cards now.

I always preached the weighted benchmark route but ppl thought I was asking too much :p

I tend to agree.

I move that vantage and to a lesser extent Unigene Heaven benchmark be the new standard.

Edit*

Action taken. A new Vantage thread has been created in the image of the 06 one. The rules and format remain the same. Obviously the old thread would not be deleted but I would like for us to move on to Vantage for system rating. New year, (relatively) new benchie.

Nice vantage score Cap, was that on the performance setting?

i was looking at the vantage thread, when we run benchmarks do we just use the Performance benchmark as the standard?

Great.  Performance issue resolved I see.

One question: why so nasty with the Vcore?  That is some serious volts going through that CPU.
I know these Intel CPUs could take some heavy OCing eh, but gad-DAYUMN!!!

Is a good ting by you have level cold breeze, or else tha rig woulda bun down already.  :laughing7:

Actually ah lie...for 190*20/21 i need 1.5. Anything less than 190 I can mellow with 1.45 give or take.

Regardless, I just make sure sustained temps aren't over 90 degrees to be safe. These chips pretty hard.

Proves that gopaul luck eh seepaul luck when it come to overclocks.

yeah true, even with the D0 chips, is easy sailing 4Ghz and below on stock voltage, but some how as yua cross 4, the gap in voltage start catching up real fast

As some of you may remember, my 750tx kick the bucket a week or two ago (meh, it happens). Time to upgrade.

Enter the beautiful Corsair HX850 Professional series.

First thing I noticed was the size of the box. Look at the size of that motha. I put my (resurrected after over a year) Nokia N82 for reference.

TX750 vs HX850 sizewise.

PSU and modular cables. Note these cables are flat like SATA cables, very nice to work with, a bit easier to hide. Also, there's a cool little Corsair bag to put little knick knacks. Out of shot is the usual corsair velvet bag that the PSU itself comes in.

Shot of the modular connections. As you can see, its not fully modular, but the included hardwired cables are absolutely necessary for any system, so that point is moot.

The insertion is complete. Not bad for 15 minutes worth of cable management huh?

And thats all for now. Hopefully this unit will last for several future upgrades. It certainly has the power and capacity be sufficient for years to come.

Nice man. But if memory serves me correctly, aren't you the one who said not to trust modular cables?

Yuh lookin good.

May I suggest passing the CPU 12V cable under the graphics cards?
It takes a bit of work, but it will look a whole lot cleaner...and you'll be able to remove your cards with impunity.
