There's a whole hive hanging out at UWI, and, as far as I understand, the South duelists are still active. As a matter of fact, the dueling scene's been pretty much the same as it was for a while now....you're just not hearing much about them because they hardly hang around this particular forum anymore.

Either that, or you're not going out there and seeing where the duelists are. If you want to find out the happenings in the duelist scene, keep some tabs on some duelists, and have them let you know what's going on.

lol...there aren't that many active duelists who still come here, as I've said before, direct communication has superceded forum information...

And I've lost count of the amount of times that you've wondered if dueling has died, as soon as no information about a tourney is up for more than 2 weeks....if you actually came to tourneys I would understand your concern, even though I know your situation...

If you want to know how the local duelling scene is going, you have to be there in person.

With that said, next tournament is on this Sunday (June 3rd)...

I believe that there is going to be a tournament the week after next week, on the 24th of June.
If you want to interact with some duelists, there's your ideal place to do so.
I'm observing a lot of new faces, as well as some old duelists returning to the game.
Just be wary of who you interact with, though, because there are some bad seeds in the crowd, at times.

Well I am still around... still duel on occation for fun... I hope to make a re-appearance at a tourney one of these days, but not to compete.  If anyone in Central is looking to practice my traditional decks are always ready, just call to make a dueling appointment first.

Ok, a couple of things to note:

I assume you are running in Advanced Format, because Sinister Serpant is banned, so that's out immediately, and Spirit Reaper is restricted to 1.

Also, it's not advisable to be running so many traps along with Royal Decree, too many chances for dead draws to occur.

Also, it would be helpful to mention what is the purpose of the deck. Is it a random beatdown, or is it being designed to work around specific monster(s)?

Whoa. That's a heck of a lot of cards you've got in that deck there.
Unfortunately, unless they gear towards a particular strategy other than "Beat the opponent until they are dead", then those cards might be more of a hindrance than being helpful.

Now, let's see. I have noticed quite a few Warrior-type monsters in your deck, so I'm going to see if I can build a deck around that. Mind you, the Six Samurai deck and the Destiny Hero deck are the decks to build if you're thinking of Warriors, otherwise, you could go with the flow and build a deck around abusing Monarchs (although I virtually hate them and what they're doing to the game right now.) But, I'm not going to toss every single card you have out of the window here, so let's see what I can do:

Monsters: (21)

1 x Jinzo
3 x Cyber Dragon
2 x Marauding Captain
3 x Elemental Hero Wildheart
1 x Elemental Hero Stratos
3 x Goblin Attack Force
1 x Mataza the Zapper
2 x D.D. Assailant
1 x D.D. Warrior Lady
1 x Sangan
1 x Spirit Reaper
2 x Exiled Force
1 x Mystic Swordsman LV2

Spells: (15)

1 x Heavy Storm
1 x MST
2 x Reinforcement of the Army
1 x The Warrior Returning Alive
1 x Book of Moon
1 x Pot of Avarice
1 x Snatch Steal
2 x Brain Control
1 x Enemy Controller
1 x Premature Burial
1 x United We Stand
1 x Mage Power
1 x Axe of Despair

Traps: (6)

1 x Mirror Force
1 x Torrential Tribute
1 x Ring of Destruction
1 x Call of the Haunted
2 x Royal Decree

MAIN DECK: 42 CARDS.

SIDE DECK

2 x Waboku
2 x Des Wombat
2 x Mobius the Frost Monarch
2 x Mask of Restrict
3 x Pulling the Rug
1 x Treeborn Frog
2 x Twister
1 x Dust Tornado

Well, SPK already told you from the get-go what should vanish from your deck. Sinister Serpent is gone and it isn't coming back, so that's out, and Spirit Reaper has been cut down to one per deck.

I've retained cards such as Mataza the Zapper, Jinzo and Goblin Attack Force. Others just seem so very random (I have no idea what in the hell Guardian Sphinx was even doing there, to be honest), that I didn't think twice about cropping them out.

Stratos + Wildheart = some serious power. Traps can't put the kibosh on Wildheart, and Stratos can either fetch more or kill some Spells/Traps on the field. Either way, it helps thin your deck down, especially with the Reinforcements of the Army that I put in.

I find, these days, that any beatdown without a Cyber Dragon or 3 are destined to fail. As such, I've put them in, along with some Marauding Captain cards. That way, you're capable of pulling off up to THREE summons in a single turn (which is the whole point of the deck, to do as much damage in a single turn as possible.) I'll leave it to you to do your homework and figure out how. Just be wary of Torrential Tribute.

If you're going for equip cards, I suggest that you can the extra two Axe of Despair cards and put in United We Stand and Mage Power instead. A Wildheart equipped with these is serious pressure (just be wary of Brain Control!) because your opponent can't use Mirror Force or Sakuretsu Armor on it.

As for your traps, I've watered it down to the bare essentials. I've left the two Royal Decree cards in (not much Traps now), but, as an option on your behalf, you can swap for two Mask of Restrict cards to prevent any Monarch cards from hitting the field. Also, Des Wombat is in your side deck alongside two Twisters to prevent ownage from Burn decks, which seem to be coming back with a vengeance.

Well, here's to hoping this gets you started.
See you around.

Sunday one week from now, there's going to be a tournament at UWI, in the cafeteria area.
Check there and somebody might have the cards you seek.
You can also check Gamez Plus upstairs Movie Towne for the packs.
