Ken Kutaragi Steps Down From His Position At Sony

Ken Kutaragi, has announced that he is stepping down from his executive position at Sony. Of course, the conspiracy theorists will go nutso over this one, but nomatter what you may think, he is one of the forefathers of modern gaming. The Playstaion 3's bad numbers we are sure played a part, but whether or not u like him, he will be missed.

Yea well Ken contributed alot.. And it was his time...
Big changes are for Sony now... They need to push the software titles now..and Ken's time has passed now...
He will be missed...

Virtually every console and its successor has done and does this these days. The market this time around is, again, larger.

However, fact remains that saled are FAR beneath projections. (Y/N)?

Because it built more hype and had had a hell of a resale value on e-bay. The PS3 really did owe a fair chunk of it's sales (in launch time frame) to resale.

All right, I am going to say this right here and now, and this goes for everybody.
Do NOT start any flamewars over this subject matter at ALL.
It's purely annoying to have to read a thread and see people going at it like Tyson and Holyfield, and I am not going to stand for it, period.

I don't think that he was a forefather of gaming on the whole, he just helped to bring different aspects together, that we now take for granted for the most part.

I don't think anyone here would attribute him to a level of Miyamoto etc, but still, he has contributions that have made as significant an impact to the gaming world of the 90s as just about any other.

Not all levels of significance in the gaming industry has to come from game design and related activities, getting these companies to sign on and support such a venture, especially given how reluctant Sony was at the start of it all...that deserves some level of respect.

Also, the scene under which he had to step down is not the clearest: There are some remarks that it was because he basically bad-talk Sony about their use of proprietary technology etc, that made them pressure him to resign...

So anyway, GG Ken, I don't think your part in gaming is over just yet.
