NEW Heat-pipe HSF solution from Thermaltake - Amazing!!

I got one of these the other day for my LGA775 P4 3Gig Prescott http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/product/Cooler/TMG/CL-P0370/cl-p0370.asp, and let me tell you... this MoFo WORKS!! i benched 45~50C average Temps (max soars to 65C easily) - 25C ambient in office - before using the Stock Intel HSF. After, i immediately saw an improvement!! now, i see 36~38C average temps (max doesn't go higher than 48C!) AMAZING!!
they make for AMD platforms too!

cost me $395tt ...but honestly, i impressed! Heat-pipe is the solution for none liquid cooling options
and in the case of the LGA775 installation, the fan blows from the front to the back of the case right onto an 80mm fan extracting from the case. In the AMD application cuz of how the mobo bracket i soriented, the HSF has to be mounted with the fan blowing from below up to the underside of the PSU - in my case my Ultra PSU has a 120mm fan drawing up thru the PSU and out the back, so i fix! gonna fit one to my AMD platform!

works for me - what's even more interesting is the stability, when there used to be a temp. variation of about 30 degrees, now i see no more than 10~12 degrees of variation.

The Zalman CNPS9500/9700 are VERY good HSFs, but the value/performance of this one
cannot be discounted.

I like it.

Thermaltake is a boss at this cooling thing.  My AMD rig has lots Tt cooling fans, etc.

FYI - to tell you how important cooling is - with the side panel off, i don't get more than 1~2 degree temperature drop on my CPU!

Very tempting HSF for my uber rig. But i want my fan speed control, yes... If i can change the fan and it can -amost- match my dream Ultra-120, I just might take it.

i find the AMD cool 'n' quiet works just fine - but the Volcano 12 Tt cooler that i'm using presently (pictured above)http://www.thermaltakeusa.com/2005/usa/coolers/volcano/rs/a1745.htm has a thermister (temp. sensor)  included that automatically adjusts the fan speed in direct relation to the CPU temperature, it does a nice job - @ 32C fan speed lols around 2,800rpm - and i've never seen it go faster than 3,900rpm/ 46~48C

i did a check on Amazon for your suggested Zalman - i believe their price was somewhere around $90US

...the Tt TMGA1 sells for $30US

hmmmmm...

oh, and to add - i had the Intel Rig at home yesterday to further test the Thermal efficiency of the HSF/case mods. with a scorching 33C ambient & 78% RH - idle temps. were 39~41C and i couldn't get it to go above 53C running stress tests.

update: i found the HSF, it's a nice heat-pipe solution, but if you understand how propeller type fans behave in environments where objects are close to them - say in that particular application of placing the fan directly in the middle to move air thru the HSF, it will cavitate and not work effectively.

its not really a new cooler anyway, but it does work really well. chech out the thermalright ultra 120 extreme. should be reasonable in price and it outperforms the tuniq tower in every scenario they tested it in.....

Well, i'm currently using te Zalman CNPS9500, and it does the job.  Very well too.  Idle temps for both cores are 36 deg C.
Full load temps at this speed (2.4 GHz) is around 52 deg C.

I will have to run some OC tests to see how efficient it really is.

Update:

i've recently installed one of the Tt TMGA1 to my AMD rig, and tested with both my 3500+ single-core & 6000+ X2 Processors, i then did a OCCT benchie, i've attached graphs which portray the kind of temp variation i get from idle to 100% load over a 30 min. time frame, if this isn't impressive, then i don't know what is (at least for air-cooled solutions)

UPDATE:

after getting the Antec 900 case, i've seen a decrease in CPU temp. by 4C! ...so take that 6000+ graph, and make a global reduction by 4C!! and i thought i had a wukkin PC case before the Antec!
