not really, michael bay can't do anything but action
prince of persia series was story driven, i don't know if i'd trust michael bay to do that even if it is a reimagining of the story, he did ok with transformers though.
Gyllenhaal ascends Prince of Persia throneJerry Bruckheimer's feature film adaptation of Ubisoft's Prince of Persia series finally has a leading man.According to The Hollywood Reporter, the role of the titular prince will be played by Jake Gyllenhaal (Brokeback Mountain, The Day After Tomorrow). The film industry trade paper is also reporting that starring opposite Gyllenhaal in the leading lady role will be up-and-coming new Bond girl, Gemma Arterton (Quantum of Solace, RocknRolla).The film is being directed by Mike Newell (Four Weddings and a Funeral, Pushing Tin), with a script by Doug Miro and Carlo Bernard (who teamed together for the screenplay of The Great Raid), Boaz Yakin (Fresh, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights), and Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner.The Hollywood Reporter also has some news of the film's plot. Gyllenhaal will play the princely Dastan as he strives to prevent a nefarious nobleman from obtaining the continuum-controlling Sands of Time. Arterton's character, the princess Tamina, will join him on his quest.Production on the film is now set to begin in July.
