So anyone can confirm price cuts on normal DSL... or has my prediction of TSTT ^&*(ing their 'loyal' DSL customers royally come to pass? as far as I am aware, i've received no noticed from TSTT citiing reduction in the price I pay for normal 256k to the rather more sensible 80TT that 'blink' is offering?

So my connection went down this morning, for a pretty long time.

When I went to bed, my connection speed was 1.5Mbps with my standard caps of 256kb down and 215kb up.

When I woke up and finally got back on the net, connection speed is now 10.9Mbps and my standard caps is now 256kb but 45kb up

Seems like I am finally connected to blinks adsl2+.

Now if only they will give me the 2MB that I ordered.

Personally, my connection speed to TSTT has benn 10Mbps for the last couple years, so, to rain on your parade, that means nothing.

Re: the TSTT meeting....the only key things I noted :

- you can get Blink without a one, two or three year contract at the advertised rates for the various speeds and pay month to month.
However, you will have to pay the full cost of the modem upfront which is about $600 or so.

- you will have a choice of different modems including ones with built in wireless routing capability.

- the TSTT firewall which was on and included for subscribers of the previous ADSL package is NOT on by default.
However you can request TSTT to turn it on

- TSTT is aiming for all exchanges in Trinidad and Tobago to be Blink-ready.
The range for BLink service from the exchanges is around 18,000 feet.

- no plans to offer IPTV over Blink

- currently Blink doesn't support IPv6. TSTT is looking into doing so and predicted that the hardware should support IPv6

- there are no plans to change pricing for dialup users. However, if Blink broadband isn't available in your area, and dialup is the only option, then the dialup fees will be reduced.

- Blink helpdesk will be 24/7

- eventually the HSIA services will be discontinued and the customers who are still on will be switched to the equivalent speed wise
blink package. No timeframe was given for this switchover.

Unfortunately, no actual demonstration of Blink...

thanks guys connected at 11mb. and for the past 4 years my con speed has been 1.5mb. So something has to be up. The connections has been of and on all day. When i call blink tomorrow i'll let u know whats happening

Just as well....still pulling elephant chuggies with this damn pitiful excuse for an internet connection. I've just about had it. Flow ftw next month oui.
