I'll concede the point about SNS because I don't have any evidence to substantiate any valid argument.

But, you're trying to make this sound like ALL the good players I've met were because of GATT. If that is what you've come to understand then you'd be grossly mistaken. I knew Akuma before Euro days and Sheppard before him. A lot of gamers I've come across I met through social interaction. Friends of friends who play at "XYZ" arcade which I haven't been to.

GATT is not the be all end all of gamer networking locally. And as a matter of fact, people do walk up to each other and ask if they're gatt members. Be realistic here while we're at this; the forums are NOT a realistic representation of the membership. How many have been made under the same user? How many have signed up and become disenchanted for whatever reason and left their account for dead? How many have been banned etc?

Accurate representation it is NOT. There are too many variables to judge even that. Additionally, are you saying that if it were not for GATT, I wouldn't have been able to play Ultima? Please don't tell me that's what you meant.

again, let me re-emphasize that this is not a point of contention (so it should not start sounding like an argument)

To clarify,

I am saying that our goal is simply to encourage gamers to meet and collaborate and that GATT in its many forms (forums, GLs, tournament's, etc...) has achieved that over the years both directly and indirectly.

We (the gamers) generally take that for granted. Sure there were pockets of gamers before our existence a decade ago but no where near the scale that we are seeing nowadays. It can only get better!

Also, that a member who registers at a GL but never returns to the site after that yet continues to play games at GLs and participate in sweats is as much a valid member as one who frequents the forums regularly.

The reverse is true. A member that frequents the forum regularly but does not attend sweats nor patronizes GLs is still a valid member.

No, I am not saying that everyone you (imperial x) met was as a result of GATT.

Nor am I saying that the member count is accurate (how did this even become an issue?)

Going forward, we aim to make such opportunities for collaboration a highlight and encourage it. As is the case with these new comers challenging Crixx and other Naruto players.

As opposed to just throwing our hands up in the air and betting that "this challenge will never take place for X,Y and Z reason"

Hope I made myself clear. I apologize if anything else was misunderstood because it was not meant to sound contentious or argumentative.

I think things are moving at a good pace with the Naruto and who knows, maybe we will see a tournament for the game in the coming months thanks to the seeds planted in this very thread!

It is a skill that serves you well no doubt. Glad that we were able to do precisely that, debate and not argue.

The warm up session went down today. Suppose we will hear about it soon enough.

Session 2 completed, I think overall we can say speed and I are pleased, and hope that all of you get your cube ASAP, and practice till you bleed. We get to let go today, and the only regrets are that the other member(s) of the crew wasn't available, and Crixx wasn't in top form. Give we a good run wid dat Ino tho. Inspiration rising; Speed find a next 1 to blaze, and I get to unleash a new character against dat Ino(Tsunade FTW). Anyway, here's hoping to many more in the very near future. Apologies as well, as we really didn't do much talking and more sweatin, because I'm very sure that the knowledge of the game that each party has can benfit the other in the long run, and hopefully on the prospective tournament scene. Sawarabi no Mai.

was a great sweat i must say, thanks so much for beating the rust out of my joints lol, was great to play the game again after so long.

Aids was dere, and provided a cube after yall left for me to get a lil more playing in, will ahve to ask aids to make that a regular thing.

Its funny that my newest character, ino, was the only one i was even remotely in form with today.
I was saddened to see how poorly i played my neji, especially when i saw yu playing him so well.

ngnt 4 has its marked differences from 3, and at first i hated them, but its an evolution of the game, as yu guys showed me. in 3 it was easy to play and never have to worry about cancels and easy to play without needing to have holds in your play style or worry about holding alot in the game but 4 its a must, and its something i never use in naruto or in almost any fighting game i play unless its a grappling character lol.

Iam sure yall noticed my lack of grabbing, just doesnt feel right to me but was great fun.

I loved playing my ino against yu guys, mad that i was too rusty too use all her flashy stuff which is her real strength since she doesnt hit hard.

With any luck we will have a cube back in tech soon? and maybe enuff to get all the other players back so we can practice for you guys.

Oh and i must must must comment on the level of sportsman ship yu guys have

very welcomed change from the usual challengers who show up and mouth off and get themselves hated in the process.

yup, i noticed your lack of grabbing and played accordingly, and your lack of cancelling too. i thought it unfair to play kisame and itachi seeing as you were indeed rusty but it looks like im gonna get some trouble in the near future so i wont have to hold back on them.

well have no fear crixx, i was "grabbingly challenged" as well for a great amount of time, but as we realised the best way to learn this game is from each other, which was actullay the whole point of versing u guys, not to show off skills but to actually learn other techniques, i mean we just one small island, how many players of naruto are there relly here?? sorry got disstracted, the point is, i didn relly see grabbing as a necessity until speed showed us how u cud win every single match, land unbelievable combos and even make amazing comebacks by just using throw...somehow the developers had an idea that throw wud cause trouble but again its jus a technique we use, i mean i am sure u probably have some way to fite without throw...and again kudos on the ino , it really is keeewl to see people bringing low level players up to par with certian...ahem..overpowered characters in the game by practice and learning basic moves to the tee...as u prob realise i'm a fan of those underdogs, so u have my respect even though i wasn there

btw the sportsmanship jus comes from learning from each other again, one loudmouth in the team is enough, we all can't be like him lol...nah jus kiddin he mellow now and i have to say is guud to play wit u guys,didn relly see any mouthers there ,jus guys that gave us rel effin ..(is that allowed) kix.........

newayzz hope to play u guys again sometime, and esp crixx as i reluctantly missed out the last encounter, i mean i relly kno it must have been hard to go down but i think u could empathise with having certain duties and responsibilities b4 the narutage, hopefully soon the sparring shall continue...until then, practice hard and practice throwing lol
