WTF at first i thought L wanted matsuda to fake his death but then when i saw him on the balcony i was like Holy SH** i actually started believing matsuda was gonna kill himself due to his incompetency lol. Well if he did i would say L was as bad as kira to kill someone working for him.

i watch all d episodes of deathnote up to 24 from thursday to now....i woulda finish alot sooner, but it took so long to dwld all of dem!!!! once u watch one, u get addicted!!! serious!! it goin real flippin good!! Light is one sick twisted evil SON OF A BI@TCH!!!! L is so cool, in an eccentric sorta super-rich genius kinda way....

dis is prob y i fine bleach and death note goin so good, cuz i dunno wat supposed to happen and thus i have no expectations.....as a result, from henceforth i have stopped reading all naruto and bleach manga...not goin to read death note own either cuz d anime will be spoilt by dat!!!

i liked them both the same, 4 diff reasons............they r both super intelligent yes, but L is eccentric in a very cool way, while Kira jus looks cool and is popular.however, L, well i just cant find sum i hate about him...........he's just so cool......nun wrong wid him...L is d badest!! RIP!!

You know, I've been hearing about 'Death Note' all over the place, but, to be honest, I didn't know what it was about, really. Up until a few days ago, I didn't really care all that much.

Then, a friend of mine invited me to watch a couple of episodes. So, I thought I'd just stick around for a couple, and see what all of the hype was about surrounding this 'Death Note'.

So, I'm watching and....God damn. This show is DAMN good. What originally was mapped out in my mind as 'watch a couple episodes and blow' turned into 'DAMMIT THIS S**T IS GOLD I HAVE TO STAY AND WATCH MOAR!!'

For those of you in the dark about what Death Note is, the anime revolves around a high school student named Light Yagami, who finds a strange notebook that has the power to kill anybody whose name is written in it. At first, he doesn't believe it, but after testing it a couple of times (the clinching moment being a horrific traffic accident of a biker whose name was written by Yagami after the biker attempted to rape a young woman), Yagami decides to be the world's 'Angel of Death', killing off anybody he deems 'evil', and ultimately creating a Utopia where he would rule as God.

The book itself belongs to a Shinigami named Ryuk, a demonic looking yet morally neutral grim reaper who tails Light wherever he goes, since one of the Death Note rules entails that one Ryuk's book fell to Earth and is claimed by somebody, he must stick with that person until either Yagami or the book is finished. Ryuk has a somewhat warped sense of humor about things, as well as an addiction to apples. He is fascinated by Light's dedication to the Death Note, labelling him a much better Shinigami than many he knows.

However, after killing off several criminals, the police are determined that these deaths are murder, and begin a manhunt for Light. What's more, several people actually become fans of Light's work, and label him 'Kira' (loosely translated as 'Killer'). This case grabs the attention of 'L', a highly elusive detective that has neither been seen or associated with a true name. Both Kira and L are determined to stop each other, so basically, it's a race to see who can uncover whose identity first.

I've only watched up to 8 episodes, but I am very impressed by this anime. In particular, this story is very well drafted out and written, and manages to keep things simple despite the complex thinking behind it all. Kira impresses me by often striking me as nothing short of a bastard, and his coldness at the same time really makes him a deep character. L also impresses me with his deep train of thought, always coming to a conclusion that makes me go, "Damn. He's good.."

So, if anybody's like to jump on the Death Note bandwagon, feel free to do it here. I'm going to see if I can catch some more episodes.
