Hs anyone heard of DealExtreme.com? hong kong megasite that sell just about everything and offers free shipping to adresses worldwide via hong kong post office standard email?

I bought a couple of wiimotes from them as they had two wiimotes and nunchucks for only 20 us. I ordered that in november 2009. Got the package at my house in trinidad in march 2010 after using standard mail. I wasnt too mad about that cause i read reviews that said dealextreme was extrememly slow. What really got me mad is that the wiimotes were defective. The d-pads on the both of them did not work properly.

So my advice never buy from dealextreme. CHEAP THING NOT GOOD AND GOOD THING NOT CHEAP. those damn chinese and real scammers. Dont buy anything from hong kong in general as it will most likely be a substandard ripoff.

Amazon Prime is 79 US per year. It entitles you to 2-day free shipping on items
that come from Amazon themselves, and 1-day shipping for $4 US PER ITEM.

Totally worth it.

Correction in yellow

Definitely worth the money. Order something Monday and get it in your hand as soon as THURSDAY via one-day.

Best money ever spent...

Pardon if it's been posted before...but how does one order from newegg with a local credit card. Is there any way around that?
What can you do to end the hunger?
It's no surprise that many will die with the coming shortage of food
When there is no grain to feed the butchered cows
When there is nothing to feed yourselves...
Then you will see that money can't be eaten.

Cant be done, not even using it to fund a Paypal account. The only way to pay is via wire transfer or good old money order/bank draft.

Ah! Miserable!

...Wire transfer, eh? Any idea how to go about that on newegg?

On checkout, there should be a money order option.  When you choose that, they will then provide the address you have to mail it to.

Then, its a simple matter to go to your favourite bank, fill out the money order with the address provided, and then take that money order to TT Post, or Fedex, and have them mail it to that same address.

Only when newegg receives and verifies the money order will they ship the item.

Time is money.

If I have to run around, go to the bank and do all that to place an order, it negates the US$10.00 I was going to save by going with newegg over say Amazon.com, which accepts local VTMs just fine.

Pennywise and pound foo.....well you know the rest.

Don't they cancel your order anyway if they see you are using an address of a known courier that exports?

No, which is why they insist on money orders for shipment to a 'freight forwarding' service.

I spoke to a Newegg rep on the phone some years ago, and they said that they got burned too many times by credit card fraud.
Once it leaving the US, money order time.

Yes.

The money order is the only difficult part, because you have to pay for it (in addition to the value of the item you're buying),
and then you have to pay to mail it to the merchant.

Totally worth it for certain items on Newegg.
