Total war is back , more gore and stratagy than ever. New features include the ability to marry off your daughters to seal alliances , in depth economics allowing you to invest and buy out busnesses , better graphics , and a better recreation of the complicated politics of the times . Your influence with the Papacy can boost or hinder your campaigns, using bribes and favours you can elect a pope who is favourable to your faction .
I loved the original : Shogun , Rome was great too but it had WAAAY too much to micromanage... Hope this is better.. or at least makes the micromanaging fun.
For anyone unfamiliar to the game : its the only one that allows you to truly control all the aspects of a war , and a realistic number of units ie. thousands per battle , religion , politics ,economics , espionage, assasination , you go learn more in this game than in an average month in school .
The gameplay has two aspects , one where you view the world like a RISK board game, and you control your territory , economy etc. Once you send out your armies into enemy territory, you can start a battle in real time (with some controls over gameplay speed) like any RTS. Its similar to the new DOW : Dark Crusade.
