I think people who bash George Lucas forget how old they were when Star Wars first came out. The whole series, in the words of the man himself, was made for kids in a specific style. It was based on the type of shows he used to watch as a kid. I am sure if you ask any kid who saw the recent films, they would say that the movies rocked. For most people, the originals will always be the best simply because they were the originals. Nostalgia is a very powerful thing. Also, the people who saw the originals as kids cannot look at the new movies in the same way because they are now older and look at movies differently. It is a shame because the man single-handedly changed moviemaking and with every film that ILM works on, he is continuing to do so. I think that his target audience (kids) was satisfied with the new films, though. I know I was. Watching Yoda kick @$$ was worth every penny. Also, the way everything was tied up in Episode III just gave me goosebumps. Yoda and Chewbacca in the same scene. Nuff said.
