It's interesting that you post this email now, I was just talking last night to a friend of mine whom had a similar problem. In his particular situation it had to do with the channel the Access points were running on. There are 12 channels in any 1 frequency band for wireless APs. Most default to Channel 6, however there are some that default to 11. This channel proved a bit problematic for my friend and simply changing the channel to that of a lower value solved that problem. If you are suffering from the same, unfortunately too bad as you won't be able to modify said settings. The reasoning behind this is that although manufacturers are supposed to follow the protocols to the letter, the tend to implement things in their own way thus forming some incompatibilities. Linksys though a subsiduary of Cisco is no exception. It could be this, otherwise, could you inform us as to whether you are able to connect to ANY wireless APs?

Well if you can connect the the G networks and really and truly you're actually trying to use 'other ppls' APs without their consent I would imagine, what is really the problem? B gives you lower bandwidth anyway, what's your real intention?

Try this, (I presume it has ethernet ports, well it has to) jack in directly and go into the settings. Change the channel on the AP to something else 1 or something and see if that helps, if not, consider a firmware upgrade and also try to verify using another wireless capable device if anything else is capable of connecting to the AP. You could just have a defective AP. Let me fill you all in on something alot of ppl do not realise. IF you have a high density of APs in an area and they are on the same channel you'll clean urself up big time. Thats the reason for all the channels so that you are not or to reduce the interference from other devices on the same Frequency. Suffice to say other B APs could be killing urs. Also what is the brand of wireless card you're using? is it an intel integrated or an add in of some kind?
