 the game will need :

at minimum:
900MHZ PIII/AThlon
256mb RAM
32mb Geforce 256/2 MX
sound card supporting EAX

recommended :
1.7 GHZ P4/1.5 GHZ athlon XP
512mb DDR
64 mb Geforce 3 / Radeon 8500
Audigy class sound system.

 What i Recommend :
2 GHZ P4/ 1.8 GHZ athlonXP
512mb DDR 333
radeon 9500+/Geforce FX 5600+

5.1 speaker set.

 cheats : go into the doom III .ini and type in "bind X  give rocket launcher etc. " where "X" is any key . Hit "X" in game  and you should get whatever you typed after "give" .

  if you have alot of extra ammo.. shoot into suspicios shadows...

 WAIT  after you kill a zombie.. they tend to get up.. several times...

  speed up the game by:
going into the doom III .ini and setting everything with "compress" in it to a whole number above 1 , on my graphics card i can reach up to 3 compression, doubling my FPS.... but losing some texture detail . On higher end cards you could probably go higher.. or maybe its the game's limit.

I think the system requirements are pretty low compared to a lot of games available today, but I'm not sure if this is official or not so trini can you tell me where you got this info?

as usuall, if you have a very fast graphics card and a slow cpu [ like me] it will play fairly well with some tweaking.
my fps
system : 850mhz PIII radeon 8500 128mb, 380mb of ram .

settings : 800x600 , 3 compression

FPS :
dark room, low poly count :
45-50 fps
lighted room, low poly count
40-45 fps
lighted room , high poly count
38-40 fps
1 zombie low light : 10 fps
2 zombies low light : 8 fps
more than 2 any condition : 4 fps
pinky demon any condition : 2fps

this was the APLHA.. the frame rate should go up alot.. but it gives you an idea....
you need ALOT of CPU power... you use physics just to walk... things swing from simulated wind and stuff....

i got it from playing the damned alpha and lagging like someone with a 14k modem playing battlefield with 60 people..

 the engine is very similar to the Q3 engine  , coding wise, you have the console running commands at game startup.. then game , like Q3 . Though the files are no longer .pk files... The textures and sounds are out in TGA files and MP3 files,  making for easy modding . .. or maybe they did that for the aplha only

when it concerns Doom III or Half life 2.. nothing is official .
 
 i don't know the requirements... but i do know.. your gonna need more tha 850mhz to play it     .

 If someone wants to see the alpha.. pm me, i'll probably be at euro this friday... bring your own machine.. preferrably with a gig of ram and at least 2 gigs free HD space .

Those betas are a waste of time unless yuh dyin tuh play DIII. They way too buggy and it's obvious by the time the game is released it'll run much better than these rush d brush sys. req.. And the beta plays horribly on some of the most powerful systems so just wait for the full game.

the  problems with the beta are :

 it uses up ram like mad, since the version on it is 0.02 you would imagine
 the amount of memory leaks it has.....

 every friggin thing uses cpu power... lots of shadows... lights swing by themselves... walking causing things to bounce.. roll etc... really sucks your cpy dry.

 people with 2ghz systems and 1 gb of ram report 30-40 fps constant  with crappy vid cards .

i need the following information :

 where your comp is, when you normally leave it for at least 1 hour...

 i had tried it out on a tnt2 and s4 savage, my friend with a 1.2 duron and geforce 256 can run it

my brothers 2.4 GHZ "snow white" plays it alot faster..
