I remember the first time I installed a memory module.. it was crucial 128MB PC-100 into a Micron Millenium 500 machine. First time I really opened up a PC actually... *sighs* anyways point is the damn thing felt like it was gonna snap with the amount of pressure I had to put on it... even over this very weekend gone, I was installing a PC2700 module into a machine I have home and with the amt of pressure I was using I could have easily thrown over a child. Even so to this date I wonder sometimes how much pressure is TOO much pressure... well imagine if you had a flexible memory module.. imagine dimms made of flexible memory modules... kinda wonder if it'd make life easier knowing they could flex or would it make if even harder to put it in cause now with all that pressure it might just... bend 0_o

Firm makes memory you can bend

Madame SRAM is your flexible fiend

By INQUIRER staff: Monday 03 October 2005, 09:12
JAPANESE FIRM Seiko Epson has made SRAM that you can bend, a world first, reports wire nikkei.net.

The SRAM devices use low temperature polysilicon thin film transistor (TFT) tech, and is in the process of making commercially available devices.

The memory uses lithography to transfer the transistors onto a flexible substrate, and the prototype as a memory capacity of 16Kbits, said the report. µ

Too often. I always feel like I have to put too much pressure to get them in...and then part of my mind is saying over and over, it's an electronic device, don't rough it up too much...the flexible chip sounds very good, but surely there's some sort of disadvantage to it?
Have you ever wished things just were?

as usual the major disadvantage that'll come with innovations like this one is the price anyway here's the good link

price and capacity

we not exactly talking about 1gb of memory here.
