Illusion DVD-Rs 4X

this seems like the closest forum to post this, its about the illusion DVD-R 4x media. i want to get some 4x DVD-Rs but can't find any Ridata/Ritek available at a good price and the Princos aren't that reliable. Wizz has this Illusion brand for sale, but i've never used it, haven't heard any reports from its use and its not listed on dvdrhelp.com. Has anyone used this media? if so, can you let me know if its reliable, both in burning the disc initially and data integrity as time passes? thanks!

Why don't you check out Circuit Zone on Stone St...I'm sure you'll recognise some old faces (all/almost all employees there are ex-Wizz employees)...they've got Ridata 8x.

well the illusion works fine palo
not czar 4x and 8x are diff prices sometimes
ive burnes like  8 spindles of illusion they work fine the qaulity is better thanprinco and if u have a dvd printer the print comes out just find so if u cant get a reasonable price for ridata go for the illusion no complaints of course there no ridata but there good

I went through a spindle of illusion +R's 4X and they worked fine. I mostly backed up PS2 games with them, so far so good. Out of 50 of them i would say like 5 of them crashed while burning, i believe it was sofware related cuz i switched programs and they worked. I also burned MPG's to use on DVD players and they work without a glitch. Just today i bought a second spindle of 50. I got them at Kong Ting for $165, thaz 8X i got thought. The 4X was $135 i think.

PS - Where exactly is circuit zone, is parking available ?

thanx for the help and the info on Kong Ting having it at a good price. oh Czar btw i wasn't specific about this but its 4x im looking for because my burner is a 4x but it will only burn the ridata 8x at 2x. i checked all over for ridata 4x but its out and being replaced with the 8x now. i got a handful of the illusion 4x, giving them a try.

No scene man...what burner do you have? I find it strange that it's burning the Ritek at 2x O_o Have you checked for an updated firmware for it? I had a Sony 4x that used to do the same thing with generic brand 4x discs and a firmware update fixed it good.

its a LG GSA-4040B... re: the firmware, ever since i first get my hands on the ridata 8x a few months back i only checking for new firmware updates, but nothing... nothing at all. firmware updates solved alot of problems in the past but like there wont be anymore.
