Green Dot.....Plz Help!!!!

Hey peoples,
I've recently payed over $1000 bucks to get DSL from Green Dot for the soul purpose of downloading from Bittorrent and P2P (especially Bittorrent). Now that I've gotten it, the http download speed are fine (between 20-40kps), but the bittorent speeds are DEAD SLOW!!!, like 0.25kps slow. It's extremely frustrating because they're telling me that it's normally for it to be that slow when many people are on the P2P server, but it's been like that ever sense I got it (2 weeks). My opinion is that the ports are closed, but they're telling me that they must be open if I can download anything at all. Can someone please help me out with a solution. I can't afford to sign up with TSTT and it would be unfortunate for me to loose the money I've already payed. I would be forever greatful.

First of all, why the hell did you pay $1000 for their service??? I'm hoping that includes an installation fee or something, otherwise you got robbed. Cos their service is only supposed to be $375+VAT per month.
Secondly, why didn't you read all the "reviews" of their service in this forum before making that decision???
Third, they are right, the mere fact that you can download, allbeit at a really really really slow speed, means that the ports are open. However, they may be throttling it! In which case, you're still screwed.
Don't think there's much you can do about the situation. Perhaps look into port tunnelling and see if you can't get your BT downloads to go through port 80 or something, that way you might be able to get faster downloads seeing as you say that your http downloads are "fine".

The $1000 dollars that i've paid does include the installation fee plus $375 for the month and I couldn't read any "reviews" for their sevice because I didn't have access to the net before. I also have no idea what Port Tunneling is. Any suggestions on where to start?

port tunnelling only works up to 4 k a second.. which is the max i get on green shitting dot ( its gotten REAL shitty now) unless you want to pay an exorbatent price.... green dot is just plain suckage right now , i'm hoping tstt can hook me up with dsl by next month else i'm stuck in green hell for life.....
No p2p works properly with green dot other than Kazaa... torrents don't work at all more than 1 k a second , the only real options are normal FTP servers or paying 10 us a month for a Usenet service ( ultimate file network, fastest and greatest selection ,100% reliable ) which works at good speeds on green.... ask baego for more info on usenet .
Green is now constantly disconnecting and timing out to the point that checking email is a pain.. no real p2p... just pisses me off , dial up would be better since torrent ACTUALLY WORKS on it...and it is more reliable, but i need green to share with my n00b neighbours who pay the bill...

yeah, the only way to increase that tunnel bandwidth is to A ) pay for a premium tunneling service
or B ) create one of your own on another PC wit DSL or such somewhere else.
I am assuming that B ) is beyond your skill level / resources at the moment.
That leaves A )
It would suck to have to pay for an ISP and then pay yet again to just get the bandwidth you expected in the first place for your downloads.
so like czar said, you're pretty much screwed.
Pity you could not have read all the nasty things we said about them on this forum before making your purchase.
DSL would have been a much better choice at the current state of affairs.
Greendot has yet to deliver on their initial promises.
Where do you live btw?

I've found this program call HTTP-Tunnel Client, which works on Bittorrent and P2p programs like a charm. The only problem is that it's not free. There is a free server, but the bandwith is limited to 1.5k. The paid service has unlimited bandwith and is at a reasonable price, but you can only pay using Paypal or eSellerate. I know that Trinis can't use Paypal, but does anyone know if eSellerate recognises our country? If you do, please reply.
PS. I'm from El Dorado.

Well, good for you. Cos at this point, they will not accept a Trinidad-issued credit card to create a new account. I think only Jamaica was on the list for Caribbean islands...
