TSTT DSL packet loss
« on: April 26, 2005, 03:38:18 PM »
Anyone remember a few months back when occassional packet loss on the DSL system used to be a regular thing? Like every hour or two perhaps your web browser, some chat applications, etc would ping out - although you were still connected - and then it would come back up normal again?

Well, it's been happening to me again over the past few days...wondering if anyone else is experiencing this lately, or know of anyone else having the problem. TSTT says they aren't having any problems, and want to go so far as having their server guys monitor my connection...which to be honest I'm not too keen on, although I'm sure all they'll be seeing is bandwidth to my modem rather than all my data, heh.

Interesting point to note: TSTT's site remains available during these outages.

well I have recently applied for the service and I do experience this symptom frequently....In addition I get frequent drops from the server...we tried running new wire and still the experienced the same result. I wonder if this is a problem with the router?...has anyone ever experienced this?

Its sad really. If it ain't just pl its also 56k pings and the packet loss is constant now making online gaming unplayable. When I first got it last year online gaming was playable at anytime of the day then a few months ago it was constant pl and the occasional high pings(56k and higher) during daytime now its 24hours a day. Pings aren't as low as they used to be as well. Anyway Tstt's internet has steadily sucked ass for years since its run by a bunch of n00b monkeys with hammers. With their adsl, they basically took a very promising service and run it into the ground.

gg tstt.

pressura

my only hope is that the local scene becomes developed enough to keep us going till some real internet solutions present themselves.

I have high hopes for wireless connections to Venezuela with wimaxx and such. wsuboceanicfibrehb
