Intels approach uncooth?

Check this out, I found it funny and no doubt the intellites will have not many good things to say after this:

Intel dual core chips inelegant, analyst says

AMD chips sophisticated. Chipzilla chips uncouth?

By Adamson Rust: Tuesday 03 May 2005, 10:08
A CHIP ANALYST has described Intel's dual core CPUs as inelegant and unsophisticated.

Nathan Brookwood, of Insight 64, was talking to local Austin Texas newspaper The Statesman about the mighty battle between Intel and AMD. AMD has a serious site down there in Austin.

Brookwood told the newspaper that most computer science people think what AMD has done with its dual core processors as "more sophisticated and elegant" than Intel's attempts.

But, he cautioned, the question had to be asked whether AMD's elegance meant better performance, and, if so, whether performance meant more sales.

Now Nathan's not exactly saying that Intel's designs are ugly. But he's a born diplomat. If AMD's designs are sophisticated, does that mean Intel's dual core designs are uncouth?

intel chips are slower ...... but cheaper! you can get a 2.8ghz dual core for 280 USD... couple with some Uber cooling  for 60-70 USD , you should be able to overclock to reasonable speeds for less than an A64 still...
Still doesn't take away from the fact that intle chips suck

Here's more bullying going on... at least so it seems:

Intel sues Intell-Max for trademark infringement

CHIP FIRM Intel continues to be jealous of its name. The firm filed a trademark infringement case against Intell-Max LLC on the 13th of May last in a Houston district court which has revealed that the giant chip firm has spent one billion dollars a year for the last few years on its Intel Inside co-marketing and advertising.

This case, said Intel in a docket, arises from the defendant's alleged unauthorised use "of one of the most famous trademarks in the world".

Intell-Max, "without authorisation or approval from Intel", adopted and used its trade mark that "wholly and prominently incorporates [the] plaintiff's famous Intel mark, along with the laudatory and generic word 'Max'," the court docket said.

Intell-Max is likely to confuse the market, the docket continues. The firm publishes and sells software and provides consulting services for science education and has a web site at this place.

The docket drones on about the Intel trademark for a further 36 pages and makes particular note of its Science Talent Search, which it describes as the "junior Nobel Prize".

Intel has also supported the Texas Design Center since 2002 to the tune of $600,000, it said. In the last decade Intel has sold over $203 billion products under its brand name.

Intel says in the docket that "among the many thousands of PC makers around the world that are licensees of Intel's Intel Inside mark are 'giants' of the computer industry such as Dell, Gateway, HP, IBM and Sony." Intel has spent one billion dollars on promoting its Intel Inside mark for each of the last few years.

Intel has tried to persuade Intell-Max to drop its name but it hasn't, the docket said. It lists eight reasons why Intell-Max should drop its name and website, and wants injunctions and stuff. The case continues.

Soon they'll have patents on the letters i,n,t,e,l so that mean I would have to change my name from Nicholas to nchoas... joy.
