there has been no official word on backward compatability but since its  bascially a revamped GBA it should play all GB and GBC games

engadget reports:

"A recent interview with Nintendo’s VP George Harrison suggests the company is thinking of marketing the Game Boy Micro as a portable media device by bundling it with the Play-Yan adapter — the device that lets you play MP3s or MP4 videos stored on SD cards"

if the play yan is built into the new gameboymicro and it retails at 100 USD that mofo will sell like hotcakes

the backlit screen is crisper than the GBASP screen not the DS screen. The SP screen is frontlit, the DS is already backlit with better abilities than the GBM. They stressed at E3 that it shows GBA games better than the SP.

this bugger really suhweet
http://us.news3.yimg.com/us.i2.yimg.com/p/rids/20050519/i/r3550013208.jpg?

Pricepoint, that is the key. Nintendo has to sell this thing for 99.99, it cant go over that. I bought a gba couple years ago and i still find new games that hold my interest, even with the original gba with no light whatsoever and normal AA batteries. i would  prolly buy this if its at a reasonable price simply to play games for a couple minutes while on the plane back and forth to tobago, or in a maxi ect, i would spend my serious gaming money on a ps3 or revo if the revo  actually is revolutionary, and just have the micro for a mobile fix every now and then and forget about the ds and the psp
