Windows 8.1 is absolutely amazing
If you have touch capable device (laptop, desktop with touch screen monitor, tablet) then Windows 8.1 is a must own.
Windows 7 is no slouch either. It is rock solid and to be honest, there is no massive impetus to move to windows 8 if you already own it on a desktop (without a touch screen).
If you can afford it though you will not be disappointed. The driver support is stuff of legends.
I literally plugged in every device in my shop and they all worked.
Played Battlefield 4 on my primary gaming rig on a stock install of Windows 8.1. Straight from the DVD install. Didn't download a single driver. None for video, none for audio, nada. AMAZING
How far we have come.
The boot up time, on a regular SATA drive (not an ssd) is 8 - 10 seconds. WTF
Microsoft has worked some serious cyber ju ju here.
Epic operating system is epic.
