Logitech G602 : Redefines the boundaries of wireless gaming!
« on: August 27, 2013, 10:07:36 AM »

Today Logitech introduced a mouse that redefines the boundaries of wireless gaming. The Logitech G602 Wireless Gaming Mouse combines 250 hours of non-stop lag-free wireless game play with the precision of Logitech G's exclusive Delta Zero sensor technology to help players dominate boss after boss.

And, to ensure players have the best-possible surface for their particular style of game play, Logitech has also created two new mouse pads, the Logitech G440 Hard Gaming Mouse Pad and the Logitech G240 Cloth Gaming Mouse Pad. These new mouse pads deliver optimized surfaces for both high- and low-DPI game play, respectively.

"When I play, I don't want to think about anything other than my game and what my next move will be. When you look at the wireless gaming mice out there though, their primary flaw is the uncertainty of having to interrupt your game to replace batteries. Not anymore," said Ehtisham Rabbani, general manager of the Logitech gaming business group. "We set an outrageous goal, and we hit it. Doubling, tripling or even quadrupling the battery life of ordinary wireless gaming mice wasn't enough. We wanted to bring gamers an innovation that would change the face of wireless gaming forever. With 250 hours of battery life, the G602 does exactly that. It's time for gamers to get real science behind them so something as fundamental as a battery doesn't get in the way of winning."

As the newest mouse in the Logitech G lineup, the Logitech G602 Wireless Gaming Mouse sets a new standard in wireless gaming. Without cords, clutter, or interference, the mouse's lag-free wireless connection and unprecedented battery life allow better, uninterrupted game play. Featuring two modes, Performance and Endurance, the G602 Wireless Gaming mouse delivers 250 hours of non-stop battery life when in full gaming mode - Performance mode - and more than 1400 hours of use in non-gaming mode - or Endurance mode. The mouse features Logitech G exclusive Delta Zero sensor technology that offers high-accuracy cursor control. Plus, it has an ultra durable build with primary mechanical switches rated to a 20 million-click lifespan. And, because it features eleven programmable controls, you can easily master your favorite games by assigning the actions you use most to the buttons you want, using the Logitech Gaming Software. The Logitech G602 Wireless Gaming Mouse is expected to be available for a suggested retail price of $79.99.

And because a game-changing mouse deserves the best possible surface to track on, Logitech G has added two new mouse pads to the lineup that are tested and proven to provide the optimal surface for your Logitech G mouse.

The Logitech G440 Hard Gaming Mouse Pad is ideal for high-DPI gaming, letting you feel the adrenaline of hitting high speeds without spinning out of control. It features a low-friction, fine-textured polypropylene surface that's kept rigid by a high-impact polymer core, giving you consistent tracking performance across the entire pad. This mouse pad was specially crafted to complement Logitech G mouse sensors to further improve their already pinpoint accuracy, enhancing your aim. And, a 3 mm, 3-layer construction keeps it in place during high-intensity gaming. The Logitech G440 Hard Gaming Mouse Pad is expected to be available for a suggested retail price of $29.99.

The Logitech G240 Cloth Gaming Mouse Pad is made for low-DPI gaming. Perfect for gamers who play first-person shooters, its heat-treated textile surface improves gliding consistency by providing just the right amount of friction to make the precise movement and control to elevate your game. The 1 mm rubber base gives the pad rock-solid stability. Like the Logitech G440 Hard Gaming Mouse Pad, this mouse pad was crafted to help you realize the full potential of your Logitech G mouse sensor, no matter which mouse in the lineup you use. The Logitech G240 Cloth Gaming Mouse Pad is expected to be available for a suggested retail price of $19.99.

Availability
Each of these products is expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe beginning in September 2013.

Yes, that would be perfect.
But inductive charging tech doesnt seem to have much use outside of phones at the moment. So doubt we seeing that anytime soon. But having said that, i wonder if it have inductive AA batteries selling that can be used to create some sort of mod in your desk to accomplish just that.....hmmmm....research begins now.

If you can do it with a high tech piece of equipment like a phone. what the hell is a mouse.. literally makes no sense.
Only drawback is that you may need to not move the mouse, but in that case then fine, paint a lil green square, let that be the charging spot. so when u done gaming, rest it there.

Mez has been talking about this for ages.

File a patent and make some well deserved moolah from the idea boy. It is absolutely brilliant.

Pity I won't be buying one because I believe in a corded mouse but I know a damn good idea when I hear it.

An inductively charged mouse is surely one.

Also, Logitech had my interest then my attention with their light powered keyboards. Charging from the bulbs on in your room. boom

I have one of those.

Sadly, anything less than a 100W won't charge it.  I have to leave it by the window for sunlight to charge it.
A full charge does last for about 3 months though.

Mez, the issue with a wireless charging mouse mat is not technical limitation, is utility.
The usefulness in a phone is much higher, becuase a phone barely makes it through 1 day.
The same is not true for mice/keyboard, there isnt a need for constant charging with those products.

@ wyatt, the apple solution is no different functionally than logitechs past charging docks. it still requires the device to be unusable during the charging period.

If logitech can get a gaming mouse to last THAT long with standard batteries, investing in QI tech wont make sense. Also a phone i sold for alot more than it would cost to buy that mouse in a few months, typical logitech gaming mice go for like 60 bucks on amazon. Time u start introducing qi, the price just going to go up and up, and most people not paying no 100$ or more for a mouse.

What logitech has accomplished with this mouse i could live with for a while. Having some energizer rechargeable to swap out every 2-3 weeks aint that bad for a gaming mouse.

Also, to add to mez idea, there is currently a wirless charger that mechnically moves the charging plate inside the device to align itself with where-ever u put the phone, something like that mite be nice for ur idea, but fitting that in a mouse mat makes no sense, go have to some how make a contraption that attaches below your desk, and qi range limited in most cases. so lots of problems with doing that tech in other devices (which is why it not done yet).

Until then, i welcome the 602 with open arms, i'll be buying one as soon as it goes on sale. And with that "endurance" mode, i mite actually be able to use 1 mouse for both casual and gaming. GG no Re.

but I just post a mouse that using inductive charging....you ain't read my post or what??? lol

but yeah, it isn't far removed from the previous "dock and charge" mouse varieties using lithium ion / metal hydride  but it is a helluva lot cooler to not "DOCK".

Just sit it down on a corner of your mouse pad or whatever and voila. Charging.

Of course if you have kids who may come and shift it around then pressure for you.

Yes i saw you post and i already responded to that, lol.
As far as utility goes, it's no different. So no real enhancement there.

And as simple as it may sound to just "dock/rest" your mouse to charge, i does hardly ever remember to do that until d battery already dead, leaving me in the position where i want to use my mouse and it DEAD lol.

Unless the inductive charger built into d mousepad/keyboard-tray it kinda defeating the whole purpose. Unlike a phone, when it rest on your desk u not constantly using it, ur phone can comfortably sit on a qi charger, and when a message comes it, pick it up and rest it back. A mouse on d other hand, u sit down infront d pc, it in constant motion until u ready to leave d pc, at which point u mite very easily forget to rest it on d dock.

I setup myself with 2 mice, 1 for gaming and 1 for everyday use. And i train myself to plug in my gaming mouse everytime i done game, so i know whenver i want to game, i have a fully charged mouse ready to go. And even dat, sometimes i does forget to plug my gaming mouse. lol.

At d end of d day, mez dream not happening no time soon, especially with logitech delta-zero sensor giving such great battery performance.

Not saying i dont want it, i love Inductive Charging, but right now, mobile phones is where that tech is, and where it go remain for ah couple years again. When it's more mainstream maybe we go see it in other devices.
