again if ur just paying to play online then yea ill dig a lil horrors but when ur also gettin some freebies thrown in and some good 1s at that why complain?

Moui already addressed this...not free...you are paying for those games

PC is different cant compare the 2. Also on PC keep in mind u often have to pay for things like servers as well, other ppl pay for stuff like teamspeak and mumble so in all honesty is PC as "free" as u think as well? maybe if ur antisocial and play online by urself then yea

Huh? The PC is very much a gaming platform, just as the xbox, nintendo and wii. It can do everything a console can and then some. Can sit in the living room on a big screen. Even costs the same nowadays.

Mumble is free, completely.

TeamSpeak is free for 32 simultaneous users for personal use and completely free for non profit organizations. You can play online multiplayer with millions of people for free in CoD, BF4, etc... Renting your own personal server is completely optional.

As for ur hosting games comment umm.......what does the specs of the machine have to do with ur internet bandwidth? can have the best system in d world if ur net is ass then u aint hosting shit lol

Specs of the machine is important for server hosting because both CPU and bandwidth come into play. If you do not have sufficient processing power the server is going to stutter and hiccup regardless of your bandwidth. This is ESPECIALLY important if you are hosting the server on the same system that is playing the actual game. You will need enough cpu cycles to process BOTH the game itself AND the multiplayer server IO in realtime.

Also, a typical Flow Turbo 20 connection has sufficient bandwidth to host an FPS game comfortably between friends locally (tried and true)

And F2P games require no PS+ to play online so if men rel salty bout that then play Blacklight, War Thunder, Warframe and upcoming games like planetside 2, H1Z1 and every other F2P game without hassle and thats a hell of a list u can live off to satisfy ur online twitch needs

Finally some good news.

dazwhawetalkinbout

So the free2play tekken and soul calibur will not require me to have PSN+ to play online then?

If so, I'm sold

Exccluding the 'free' games you get on PS+, the discounts more than make up that $50 subscription. The 'free' games is only part of it.So if yuh is ah man that doh buy games on sale and doh play free games, then yh yuh goin and be real salty, otherwise yuh goin and love PS+.

F2P and even some subscription based games such as FFXIV and Elder Scrolls Online won't require PS+. Considering I could count the amount of games I play online on my fingers I could care less if mp behind a paywall or not.

I tried out the free to play multiplayer games Blacklight & Warframe on PS4. Didn't really find them all that. Overall I found Warframe better on PC (graphics and framerate were obviously better). Don't really have much faith in Drive Club demo either, hopefully it'll be decent. Would not recommend going for Plus if you plan on just playing the free to play multiplayer games unless there is one you really interested in.

Yeah not touching an FPS on the PS4 with a stick, I'm really interested in the Soul Calibur and Tekken.

Would those be free2play online when they land on the PS4? Any insider info?

A list of the free2play games would be cool if someone could link that.

DC universe, warframe, black light, resogun, war thunder(crappy plane game w/ shitty controls), think there are others for the other markets. Don't starve is entertaining and a good time killer, but it's not free.

you know as much as I love Nintendo, to even put their online in comparison to XBOX Live or PSN is a joke.

Nintendo FAILSSSSSSSSSSSS hard with EVERYTHING online. Freeness does not  mean you getting quality.

and as many have expressed here, plus pays dividends back to the consumer. with quality titles that u get with the service, for an extremely reasonable price. no getting around that.

When I tried xbox live their online was heads and tails over psn in terms of online multiplayer, not sure how it stacks up now, since I have neither of Microsoft's consoles on hand.

On another note, people trump steam as the herald of pc gaming, I agree mostly, but in some multiplayer games, the online is terrible. (speaking from lots of experience) the console experience is superior with some games. Fighters, some racers and even some FPS games usually have a more quality online experience on console than their PC iteration.

Because its on PC does not always make it overall better. Sometimes they are just simply prettier.

did it have less lag or something.? i dont get why people says this. i never had an xbox360 so i dont know what it is but on the xbox one i found nothing on the online multiplayer that made it better than psn. also i think the psn on ps3 is the same quality multiplayer as on the ps4 now. maybe you guys taking into consideration the features such as cross game chat, download speed and maybe the basic layout and ease of use of one system over the other? but in terms of online multiplayer, you know when u boot up a game and play it online i found no difference.

agree on what u said about the pc doh lol

for one, the party chat, was a needed addition to the online, also for a few games well I used to get booted, from uncharted series, and sometimes even killzone, happened enough times to warrant frustration. didnt happen much with 360
But that was ps3 vs 360, no idea how ps4 compares to xbone. But im not running into any issues with PSN now with the games ive tried so far.

I believe that is a developer problem. Uncharted 2 online was fun but frustrating. Hard to find a game plus getting booted and lag. It will vary from game to game.  look at the bf4 problems that affected/affecting(not sure if fixed)all platforms.

Not sure how bf4 is on pc multiplayer now, been very impressed with it on ps4 so far. Very little lag for me and no crashes yet. As mentioned before download speeds on ps4 are drastically better than on ps3 for me.

I just tried BF4 on pc, load times were substantially better, no lag, no issues. Seems to be optimum now.
