Voice Control :

Tap and Hold start button to activate voice controls.
The onenote integration is especially useful, "Note: Take out trash" -> The phone opens onenote, transcribes voice to text, and attaches a voice copy of the note

Lock Screen Apps:

Some apps on WP8 have the ability to dynamically update the lockscreen, to view all apps currently installed with lockscreen features go to Settings->Lock screen->Background

   

Skydrive Sync:

You can backup apps, text messages, photos and videos to skydrive automatically. Which then syncs with skydrive on all other windows devices. So you can essentially take a photo and view it on your PC almost immediately with no cables required.

 


Lenses:

A lens opens from the built-in camera app and launches right into a viewfinder experience to help the user capture the moment.

When a user presses the hardware shutter button or taps Camera in the App list, the built-in camera app starts. From the app bar, the Lens button appears as shown in the following figure.






Search:

Press the search button to initiate a search.
Specialized functions accessed via search includes:

Bing Vision: Used to scan barcodes of items, apps, grocery items etc. and access information related to the product via the web/apps.
Bing Music: Used to listen to a currently playing song and find and identify the song (Same function as the SoundHound App)

Most of these apps are also available in the Windows 8 Metro Store for PCs/RT devices, and uses SkyDrive where applicable to synchronize app data between phones, tablets and PCs.
E.g., I add a package tracking number using package tracker for an amazon order on my phone, it then syncs this addition to the pc version of the app, automatically enabling the PC live tile and notifications for package status changes. (The process also works in reverse if the tracking# was added via the pc).

==========Rare Issues and Fixes==========
   
   Infinitely Syncing Issue:There has been rare reports of the phone syncing indefinitely and not receiving new mails, the issue is related to skype. Uninstall skype reboot, complete a sync, then re-install skype.
   
   Soft Reset Windows Phone:
   Hold Volume Down+Power Button until phone restarts
   
   Hard Reset Windows Phone:
   Settings->About->Reset
   Or
   1. Make sure you have enough battery life
   2. Press the Volume Down Key + Power Key to turn on the unit.
   3. Still hold the volume down key, the release Power Key.
   4. Wait for the startup screen booting with an exclamation mark " ! " then release the volume down key.
   
   Press the following buttons in the following order: press the volume up (high volume key) ==> press volume key down (low volume key) ==> press the power key ==> press volume down key.
